Intro to Gotta B Me

In this brief introduction to our podcast we discuss what makes our perspective unique, why we feel you should listen to us, and how Christianity as it's known today may have become somewhat irrelevant.
Curious about who we are and why we dress this way? Check out our videos where we cover those topics!

Hey yall - from London here. Please could you do an episode discussing "relevance" that you mentioned above at . It'd be so interesting to hear what you guys see are the difference in the way different age groups, generations (the living ones I mean like our parents etc.) think and act about what the relevant and urgent issues are today. And what you girls are going to avoid and not practice in order to keep your perspective that you have into later life and some of the ambitions yall have. Or maybe that isn't the point. Id love to hear yalls perspective - based on a) the experience yall have had already holding onto your current identity (with how you dress, your religious background, your cultural background - and even in the name of the channel, I guess it runs deeper of just protecting your identity. Is identify maybe the root of desires and visions yall have for the future on [going back to the beginning], urgent issues of the day.). I also don't know if there is anything, historical or current perspective, yall have read (big library I see!) or anything yall have observed/experienced in your current community work too that make you think about this question of "keeping the relevant issues alive and keeping yourselves alive advocating for these issues for as long as possible". Hope that made some kinda sense x

We would love to speak more on all of these things in the future. We are connected to a community of people that keep us on track and our perspectives consistent because believe it, by ourselves it would be impossible! We have a few episodes that will eventually come out addressing some of the things you mentioned! Stay tuned to get more and thank you so much for being here! ❤️ One of our dreams is to visit London someday!

I would love if y’all could explain some of the things on the bookshelf behind you. The Tibetan singing bowl, and Buddha statue jumped out at me. What do those things mean to y’all? I like how Sophia said that by dressing a certain way you’ll be associated with certain people. So, you’re honoring those you respect by dressing like them. My guess is your library is just that, a library, and not a platform to where anything is being honored per se. Perhaps it’s just a collection of books you’ve read, and gifts that were given along travels. However, it would be enlightening to educate viewers on the symbols behind you that don’t align with the Christian faith. God bless you, sisters! Ps. Sorry if you’ve covered the is already in other videos. I haven’t watched them all yet but I’ll get there!

I’m happy to see you sharing in this medium. I’m 69 yrs old, white of Dutch descent and married 50+ years to a black man from Barbados, so we were both racially and culturally challenged. I gave birth to two children, son and daughter, but raised another son, from my husband before we were married. We lost our daughter when she was 17, but I’d like to believe she would be like you had she lived. She wanted to be a missionary to India so she dressed in their traditional salwar kameez And churidar. Anyway, we raised our sons to adulthood (50 & 51 yrs old), and now have 16 grandchildren of every skin tone from Scandinavian fairness to deep African black. I look forward to your future presentations. I’m curious about your choice in style of dress, how it relates to your faith, even what denomination you claim…

Thank you for the questions and engagement and for being here! We trace ourselves back to the church founded in the Bible specifically as described in the book of Acts. We are anti denominational and we believe that we are part of the one body of Christ comprised of all saved individuals who are embracing the ever advancing understanding of truth. Anyone who is a part of God's Church is a part of the family of God. And eventually all those who are following the truth will come together as one. This is the bases of our beliefs. Simply put, we are Christian. As far as the way we are dressed, our clothing signifies our connection and identification with our leaders and each other. We believe that it aids in the display of our consecration to live according to our understanding of God's Word and the unity it will most assuredly produce. It is our personal conviction to dress this way...but we do think it looks great😄. See also our video "You Wear THAT in the Summer" kzread.info/dash/bejne/q6xkyauPl8XThtY.htmlsi=69mOfFmxuDT-2DK5

I get not affiliating with a denomination (I laugh sometimes and tell people I’m a “mutt” 😆) but I think the reason people like putting it in a box, as you say, is so they can relate. Suppose you invite someone to a religious function and they think you’re Catholic but your views lean more toward Methodist or whatever, I think it just helps with clarity. I know some people will say I’m anabaptist but prefer to be called a Believer or some might say, we’re close to Messianic Jew. So I think people are probably curious with what your belief system is, not just why you dress modestly. 😊

Hello! I have watched your videos and also researched Real Black Excellence and Brother Stephen Hargrave as you mentioned in this and other videos. I have a few questions if you'd be so kind as to address them directly or in a future video I would appreciate it. From reading about Hargrave it appears he is a member/leader within the Church of God. Are you also members of Church of God? If so why are you reluctant to say that directly as I haven't seen you state it in a video or in response to a comment on any videos. Is that a personal choice or something related to the group's doctrine/ mission? Other religious doctrine sort of questions I had were about if you have baptisms, communion, or any other special rites of passage as well as what the stance is regarding being "Born Again". When was Real Black Excellence established and how many people are involved with it? I noticed there are quite a few different branches/ affiliated groups with varying missions which seem very interesting and I'd love to learn more about. Why did they decide to start in Muncie of all places? I'm from Fort Wayne, Indiana so I am familiar with Muncie and its..... limitations. Would love to hear why it was chosen. Do you all live together in Muncie? More general/ lifestyle questions, were you homeschooled growing up or what schooling did you receive? Are there limitations or expectations regarding what careers you might have? I assume since you have a KZread channel there arent any limits on what technology you can use right? I noticed from some of the photos on the RBE site that there seems to be pretty strict segregation by gender. Is that always the case or only in specific circumstances? Regarding your clothing, I am interested to learn more about if there are specific restrictions/guidelines about what you can and can't wear. I respect the idea of modesty but different religious groups seem to have different expectations regarding modest dress and the intersection between modesty and fashion. Is it important for you to not just be modest but to clearly look set apart from others like your clothing does? What are the clothing expectations for specific situations/ events, like weddings, funerals, etc. Are you allowed to go swimming and if so wearing what? I know this is a lot of questions so I apologize if it is overwhelming. I just would like to better understand your views and what sets you apart. Thank you for your videos, I think you could both absolutely have careers in public speaking if you wanted to!

Hi! :) I love that you girls are doing this! I just want to maybe help clear the doubt. I think the reason why people are asking or in doubt of who you are is because you dress differently and can be mistaken for a community like the Amish or something similar not necessarily religion. I think the question some may not be towards the fact of whether you are christian or not but more of what community you are from (in terms of ethnic/social). Im not sure if that makes sense. I am also christian and I think I am a conservative christian but I don't look like you guys do or dress your way (nothing wrong in that). So its that contrast that might be the question of many.

I find it interesting but sadly, not surprising, that no matter how a christian shows up (how they are dressed) or, when they claim their christianity publically, that the focus (from other believers) many times is on what denomination is being represented, rather than taking time out to observe and to discover the content of the character of said christian. I mean the scriptures teach us to "test the spirits" because "many false prophets are gone out into the world." Test the spirits, not denominations. Look for their fruit, not where they're planted, neither what kind of tree they are but do they bare evidence of the vine they claim to abide in. Abide in his love y'all. Try the spirit.

Thank you! We wouldn’t say the Bible says these exact words but where does it state it shouldn’t be? There are numerous places that mention our Christian walk being full of joy and happiness even while it is straight and narrow. A few come to mind: -Ecclesiastes 3:13 (KJV) "And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.” -Psalm 27:6 (KJV) "And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.” “Psalm 126:2 (KJV) "Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.” “Luke 15:23-24 (KJV) "And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.” These are just a few of the many scriptures that instruct people of God to make merry, be joyful, and enjoy the good of our labor.

We don’t believe in labeling ourselves as a denomination. We believe that as Christians we’re simply followers of Christ and will come together with all other followers of Christ. It’s a little confusing for us to try to disconnect ourselves from other people who are also following the truth. To us if we’re all fighting against evil for the end goal of reaching the oneness of humanity, we’ll all eventually come together to reach our goal.

I saw the formal attire and thought to myself, surely this video is about Christianity. Let me hear where they come from and I have to tell you this your parents have doen a great job raising well spoken children, however for being raised christians, you've missed the plot of christianity and that unfolded in your very intro and i hope as you grow up you will attain the wisdom of what christianity truly is. Christianity exists only for a single purpose which is the propagation of the Gospel to the ends of the earth, so that God can save those he has predestined for salvation among the people who will not only heart but also receive the gospel. A true church addresses the injustices of the world through the gospel: - Racism is hatred and therefore sin - Homosexuality sin and can't be addressed any other way but through the gospel - Crime is rooted in envy, hatred, greed and sin, - Social inequality is rooted in laziness on the part of some, neglect on the part of others, greed on the part of other therefore still sin, and to utter the Words "Christianity has lost its relevance" goes to show that you have yet to come to understand that the Gospel is the power of God to save both gentiles and jews and this world cannot be made better as though it were our destination again another indication of your poor view of eternity as whole. You're Christians so you say? well let me challenge you to the truth of the gospel that reveal that only when man is called, hers the gospel and is transformed by it, does he then begin to care for his neighbor beginning with giving his neighbor the truths of the gospel, then addressing all other issues that stem from the fall. I don't know how much interaction you've had with scriptures, but i'd urge you to think on the words of the Q1 of the Heidelberg Catechism. 1. Q. What is your only comfort in life and death? A. That I am not my own, 1 but belong with body and soul, both in life and in death, 2 to my faithful Saviour Jesus Christ. 3 He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood, 4 and has set me free from all the power of the devil. 5 He also preserves me in such a way 6 that without the will of my heavenly Father not a hair can fall from my head; 7 indeed, all things must work together for my salvation. 8 Therefore, by his Holy Spirit he also assures me of eternal life 9 and makes me heartily willing and ready from now on to live for him. 10 1.1 Cor 6:19, 20. 2.Rom 14:7-9. 3.1 Cor 3:23; Tit 2:14. 4.1 Pet 1:18, 19; 1 Jn 1:7; 2:2. 5.Jn 8:34-36; Heb 2:14, 15; 1 Jn 3:8. 6.Jn 6:39, 40; 10:27-30; 2 Thess 3:3; 1 Pet 1:5. 7.Mt 10:29-31; Lk 21:16-18. 8.Rom 8:28. 9.Rom 8:15, 16; 2 Cor 1:21, 22; 5:5; Eph 1:13, 14. 10.Rom 8:14. I hope your comfort in the state of the world and attempt to offer a more nuanced outlook results in pointing to Christ who's our everything and ALL.

Seventh-day Adventists who are baptized believers in Adventist doctrine (28 Beliefs) are not Christian. Adventism teaches doctrines which are cursed in the bible. For example, the Adventist gospel message of 3 Angels Messages is not found in the bible and according to Gal. 1:6-9 this gospel is cursed. A church which preaches a gospel which is cursed is not Christian. Adventism is not Christian and not part of the larger Protestant Christian community. Galatians 1:6-9: I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.

@@PrayerwarriorZelphamcdonald77 The SDA church teaches a false gospel and according the scriptures (Gal. 1:6-8) is cursed for this false 3 angels gospel. The SDA church has consistently preached this gospel message and continues to declare it, such as publishing it as the official mission statement of the SDA church. The Saving Gospel is defined in I Cor. 15:1-4 as the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and this gospel was received by him from Jesus (Gal. 1:11-12). The gospel message of the SDA church is composed of the gospel messages of these three angels (Sabbath worship, fate of Babylon and reject Mark of the Beast). The SDA gospel is not the same gospel as the saving Gospel of the Bible divinely revealed to the Apostle Paul and because the SDA teach a false gospel they are accursed (Galatians 1:8) The SDA church also makes it clear it cannot preach the gospel of the Apostle Paul (1) and states this message is a message for "the day." However, the SDA church errors from the bible. The Apostle Paul taught that anyone preaching "any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed" (Gal. 1:8) (2) and this gospel he received by divine revelation of Jesus (Gal. 1:11-12) (3). The Apostle Paul defines the saving gospel in I Corinthians 15:1-4 (4). Because the SDA church cannot preach the saving gospel of the Apostle Paul (1), it has placed the curse of Galatians 1:6-8 upon its own head and preaches a gospel that the Apostle Paul never taught or preached. *REFERENCES* 1. “To the Seventh-day Adventist Church has been committed, this message. The everlasting gospel was preached by Noah, by Abraham, by Paul and Peter, and by all the prophets and apostles of past ages. It was preached in the setting appropriate to their day. We cannot preach this gospel message as Noah preached it, or as Paul or Luther gave it. It is for us to preach it in the setting of God's great threefold message of Revelation 14.” The Advent and Sabbath Review Herald. November 29, 1934. p.1 2. Galatians 1:6-8: I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. 3. Galatians 1:11-12 For I would have you know, brothers, that the gospel that was preached by me is not man's gospel. (12) For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ. 4. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4: Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you-unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures

Thank you for the questions! We are actually anti denominational. But to us, our clothing signifies our connection and identification with our leaders and each other. We believe that it aids in the display of our consecration to live according to our understanding of God's Word and the unity it will most assuredly produce. It is our personal conviction to dress this way...but we do think it looks great😄. Also the following video addresses why we dress the way we do, feel free to check it out! kzread.info/dash/bejne/q6xkyauPl8XThtY.html

Dear Ladies, I can not believe the amount of strange, extreme messages I read here about what you say or what you might be religion or race wise. I think it is very wise to just call you Christian and try to be as good to people as possible. most religion is made to extreme in my mind, especially in the USA. it has a very unhealthy political standpoint to it, to the point that it corrupts religious leaders. And than it just becomes evil .
