Intro To Connections Using Ansys Mechanical - Lesson 1

Ғылым және технология

This video lesson introduces preloaded bolt joints and the three types of connections available in Ansys Mechanical to represent them: contact, joint and beam connections. Each option offers a different balance of accuracy versus efficiency in calculating the forces and moments involved. The objective of this video is to help identify the required connection types for our model.

At 11:27 you mention preload impacts natural frequency and a study on this can be done using beam elements. Where can I find resources for modeling of bolted connections to support modal analysis? Everything I find is for static analysis and uses non-linear contacts which don’t apply to a modal

just don't use this distracting background sound in the video but the explanation and the video content is really nice and insightful
