My vet instructed me to change the needle after drawing the medicine into the syringe, so you inject the horse with a completely fresh needle that's never been used before. This way the needle that goes into the horse is as sharp as possible.

What simptomes are there that I did hit an artery after injecting and you realized oh poop I didn't check that it isn't in a vein.

This is demonstrating intramuscular injections, not iv, just making sure that was understood. So no vessel, neither vein nor artery.

Your "technician" should also be the one placing IVs and giving IV injections, at least in the clinic environment. That is our job.
