INTP Honest Description

INTP - the best and the most honest description I could do of this MBTI 16 personalities type. They are smart and think a lot but procrastinate and struggle with motivation. Also INTP social skills are lacking because they just don't think about people much. Enjoy!
#16Personalities #16Types
#INTP #MBTI #INTPfunny
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is an introspective self-report questionnaire indicating differing psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions. The test attempts to assign four categories: introversion or extraversion, sensing or intuition, thinking or feeling, judging or perceiving. One letter from each category is taken to produce a four-letter test result, like INTP or INFP

One of the things that INTPs value is our ability to be objective. For me that means trying to be balanced and develop my other functions as far as I can and problem solve how to accommodate/social engineer the other types of be more effective at communicating with them in a language they can receive. A beautiful thing about Ti/Ne is when our strengths aren't the right tool for what we need in a situation we can adapt to the need in ways other types can't. I think this approach along with blowing off social apprehension to be authentic has helped me develop my Fe more than some. Getting beyond worrying what other's think without having the chip on our shoulders that I've seen in some that have given up trying to fit in has been my secret to avoiding both pits of trying to blend and becoming a hermit.

This is perhaps the most accurate description of INTPs I've come across in almost 20 years of reading about MBTI.. I'm an INTP with Adult ADHD so procrastination is strong within me.. Super frustrating. I found therapy in my 30s was great and helped me to be more balanced emotionally. As much as we can be described as robots, I feel it's because we're too emotional/sensitive and do all we can do to keep that shit at bay so therapy is a good way to satisfy our need to know how stuff works while actually doing the work on ourselves.. But look at me.. rambling.

I learned to chameleon socially a while back. As an INTP, it is one of the most exhausting things. It's the same with emotions. It's not that I don't have them. It's just that they don't always make sense. Like, I can be watching something, like a movie or something and something on the screen resonates with a memory from x timeframe ago. It' doesn't even have to be a sad emotion - simply remembering the emotion while watching whatever it is that triggered the thought process: the remembered emotion is so strong and illogical that I cannot process it. Segment Fault... Absentmindedly I will wipe tears from my eyes, wondering how they got there and be slightly irritated at the whole process.

About researching new ideas and never implementing them. I have read few studies showing you can learn something as efficiently as someone who is physically learning it by just researching/watching tutorials and imagining doing it yourself. To fact check it I researched a lot about Arch Linux and watched many tutorials and imagined myself setting it up and using it and when I switched to Arch from windows I had no problems using it ( It’s supposedly one of the hardest OS and I hadn’t used Linux before ). I still wasn’t convinced so I learned guitar for 1 month with this method and tried to play it, I kind of played it like someone who was taught for 1 month would have played it but not great as I had expected. Although this is limited to physical skills and not remembering factual information but remembering factual information that piques someone’s interest is already easy

All that "people" line is on point. Delirious need to be alone (but not isolated, I like instant messages but my phone is always on silent mode). I've tried to "people". Really I've tried to mingle. It always ends in huge disappointment and the feeling that I'm gently put aside. Especially now that I'm a grown-up, it's not like kids who bluntly say to your face "we're not friends anymore" but close. Fair enough. I tried, not just for the sake of trying. I even had fun a little. Sometimes I felt overwhelmed. But you all decide to turn your back on me because of one random thing I said that didn't even hurt anybody personally. Fine, you do you, I go back to my little haven of peace and beloved loneliness and you stay together.

The best thing bout being in a robot body with my mind is that now I can code action based tasks and let my body do the task while my brain happily thinks, no more body getting tired, hence problem of procrastination also solved. I can keep thinking while the robot body executed the commands tirelessly. Plus precision based tasks would be so much more easier, no more trying to align the compass with a pencil to draw a circle, just command the robot body to do so.

When I think about the difference between myself (INFP) and my INTP friend I think about this moment in the year after high school, where I was trying to emotionally vent to him about all the bullying I had recieved in high school. My INTP friend tried to share my frustration by claiming he hated a student called Jacob just as much as I hated my bullies. However, when he went into the specifics he was the one instigating the friction between him and Jacob, while Jacob just wanted to be left alone. So my INTP friend was trying to empathize with me by comparing kids who were bullying me to someone that he was bullying. Then I said that I would steer clear of my bullies and not cause any trouble unless provoked. He responded by claiming that if he saw Jacob he wouldn't be able to control his rage and would have to beat the hell out of him. At the time I had no idea what the hell I was listening to. Listening to this video I realize what he must have been thinking in order to say that. He must have been thinking 'Sam's full of anger so I need to be even MORE full of anger.' So I can relate to what you're saying about INTP not understanding emotions and trying to blend in like a chameleon by saying 'oh yeh, I am also like that.' I'm still great friends with this person by the way.

Everyone knows they won’t find a better solution than us. It’s not the only solution. We know this because we already thought done the scientific method in our mind. We will take longer, yes. But having to restart halfway through is surely more costly than just waiting for us to find the answer or have the worker bees waste resources in experimentation. It’s dumb. They are all stupid for thinking. We do it better. They already know it. Does that also make them irrational? If they know we think better, then they are wasteful of resources (mental or otherwise) to do it themselves. I could keep going.... sincerely- INTP

I keep coming back to I'm an INTP but have always struggled to know for sure which is one of the things that help confirm it actually. However the thing that throws me off is that I was know as a workaholic but maybe it's because most of my life I was in the position of having no other choice and I feel that responsibility intensely so when I start doing I don't stop till its done and I have to do it as perfect as I can and often am never satisfied so yoj can hardly get me to stop and rest. Thats the only part that just totally throws me off. But I loved this video. If you have any insight into this let me know if you would please. I'll go check out ond of your INFP videos now. And btw what is Personality type?
