Into The Sahara Desert (hot, dry and unforgiving!)

Hot, dry and unforgiving! With about 10 litres each we set of for a challenge unlike we ever faced before. Before us lays the biggest desert on earth: The Sahara. Our goals is to cycle a stretch of about five days to the frontier town of M’Hamid El Ghizlane. The weather starts out picture perfect but we soon get a reminder that things can change suddenly and drastically. We end up in a tiny village where we are taken in by a incredibly hospitable couple and their lovely daughters. They show us their special way of life and for a brief moment we become part of the family.

What a beautiful video. Thanks for putting so much effort into sharing your experiences and highlighting the kindness of the people you meet along the road. It is very grounding. I think travel (especially the way you do it) is important in our globalised world. It helps adjust ones - often negative - perception of the world to a more real image. People are mostly good and willing to help, share and connect. Keep it up!

We completely agree. Most news headlines portray a bleak picture of the world. There's bad things happening, no doubt. Though in essence we feel people are good and there are happening many beautiful and positive things simultaneously. With our video's we hope to give a more balanced perspective. Thank you so much 🙏

Maudi, Eric, I have tears in my eyes. I know what you mean from personal experience about how the pictures don't do justice to a place's beauty. And, frankly, the images were pretty fantastic too! Thank you for sharing. It's truly wonderful to ride along with you as you explore the world and become ever better filmmakers along the way. Awesome You can probably charge the battery at the auberge where we ate lunch. They also have places to stay overnight. Keep in mind that it your bicycle has problems you need to be able to push it, because there's not much out there!

Let me ask: How to get an e-bike battery over to Africa? Want to do the same with bringing my own e-bike with me from Europe.
