Larry Janesky and his son Tanner team up to face the challenge of a lifetime: one thousand miles of unforgiving landscape in the Baja 1000 - the longest non-stop race in the world.
Two men, one bike, 25+ hours of relentless battle against fatigue, sleep deprivation, and the elements. The conditions of this competition are so harsh that only half of the teams ever make it to the finish.
This is their first time racing the Baja 1000. Could they finish, or even win?

This is the Best Video that I have ever seen on KZread. I was an A Class racer and retired when my son was born. 17 years later we bought 2 dirt bikes. He was good. However a freak accident broke his right femur in 7 pieces. he was going about as about a slow walking speed. I tried to keep riding but a stroke took the wind from my sail. I have enjoyed this video of a Father and a son. It reminded my of my son and I. good work.

Wow.. I'm in tears this movie honest to God just probably changed my life. My dad and I race dessert dirt bike races and the first year him and I ever did a full series together was 2015 and we both won our respective classes. I'm lost for words how great this film is. The words spoken at the end quote you have to experience the lows to have the highs.... Man you guys have no idea how much this video means to me will probably be my favorite for the rest of my life thank you so much for sharing I'm still in tears speechless

What an awesome and amazing movie! Having ridden 3500 miles in Baja California, l can relate to a lot of the different types of terrain and obstacles along the way. If someone would've told me the coldest l'd ever be in my life would be in Mexico I'd never believe them. From the moment we left San Diego to head south of the border, it was a drizzling rain. Four hours later, l was shivering so bad l was having classic symptoms of hypothermia. I had no idea that while riding across the mountain range the temperature dropped to 38 degrees from 68 earlier in the day. Thankfully one of the other riders let me use his heated jacket for two hours to warm my body temperature up.

Why did the movie only last 5 minutes ? Didn't realize how 1 hour 27 minutes and 6 seconds passed.Enjoyed every second very much.Respect all of you.How would someone leave his comfort zone and put himself into a situation like this ? I think adventure is like blood in our veins.Congratulations to all of the racers , the mechanics and the team members. Also the spectators.Peace and Love from İzmir Türkiye...

Well done Father and Son. I started reading about the Baja 1000 a decade and a half before Chris even won his first one. My favourite riders back then were Malcom Smith and Larry Roesler. I'm pretty sure the original race finished in La Paz and never made that loop. Glad to see it's still going. Next stop. Paris Dakar.

This video is an amazing effort to tell an incredible story. Great job! The father son aspect is heart warming. My son and I raced the Desert 100 when he was 16... I have raced it 5 times, but it was his first. 1100+ racers on the starting line and everyone goes. The "dad" in me was so scared for his safety, but he did it. I was so proud to be there with him. Thanks Janesky Family. I've got tears in my eyes.

Thank you for all the money and effort you put into this entire project, it clearly shows I'm the finished project. I think I was the guy you were chasing along the ocean who went off course and missed 2 VCP's. Our GPS did not work for the first 500 miles and I missed a turn. It was great to relive the race through your documentary!

We dont ride dirt bikes anymore, but we got to spend our share on the trails when they were 10 years old to around 15 years old. Great times. Today working with them everyday is also amazing as a dad. Seeing our sons grow into responsible and respectful young men is very rewarding.

Awesome. Standing ovation from Minnesota! I have raced the I-500 snowmobile race in 2000, finished and placed 7th in my class....I was not a professional...I was a High School Band Director at the time and I was raising money for every mile I made in the race, people donated money to my band kids....that kept my head in the game to not ride over my head. That race was difficult, but not even close to this. Great job, thanks for sharing. I came across this from your Blog. I absolutely loved this documentary movie. I started it thinking I would watch a little & go to sleep as it was close to bed time. I could not stop watching & finished it after midnight. Congrats on the win & the awesome opportunities turned into great memories. I really liked the bond of father and son riding all over the world. I share the same desire to ride adventures with my son. He started at 5 years of age like Tanner & is now 13. We just finished his 4th race season, racing TCCRA out of Dallas TX. I've been race with this series for 10 years, but the last 2 years have been the best with my son & seeing him progress & get competitive. We are now rebuilding his KTM 85 after a great year of riding. It's been a great way to bond with him off the track. Your life story is inspiring & gives me a window in to what is to come. We plan to ride the Colorado Rocky Mountain in a few years together & continue riding & racing for many years. Thanks for sharing your story in such a professional & inspiring way. Keep making memories together.

I truly teared up at the ending of this movie/life story. I relate to this big time. It's not the same as me n my father but in 2007_08_09 me and my dad became father and son landspeed record holders at the Bonneville salt flats aboard our 1952 triumph T100 500cc bike with him holding 2 records in the v-g 500 and vf 500 class and me holding 1 in the v-g mps500 cc class with mine being modified partial streamline class and all 3 being vintage gas and vintage fuel 500cc class. It was very special thing for us both. Congratulations to both of the Janesky's

Great documentary! Also from CT. Never raced in the Baja but we've ridden Baja with our so cal/ Mexican buds. Ensenada, Mikes sky ranch and down the peninsula. Baja has the craziest terrain, mountain, rocks, beach, talc like dust!! You just don't know til you've done it. Congrats!! " for all things basementy" 😂

I went on a Chris Haines Baja tour years ago. Chris wasn't there and the two riders said he was violently ill. I don't remember their names but I do remember a pretty big guy riding in the back and a skinny older and chain-smoking guy riding in the front. My dad shattered his shoulder but the hospital thought he dislocated it. The doctor pulled his arm very hard and he passed out and woke up the next day. Another father and son team had to look after me because I was only 9 or 10 at the time. I remember going to Mike's Sky Ranch and being too scared to cross the very small creeks on the way up there. It was one of the most memorable experiences of my life.
