I'm pretty sure this is what my dad used to play from cassette in our car when i was a little kid. What are the odds. Music like this always finds its way around the world.
In Poland we heave our own high-land style folk music which is very popular and admired (even in popculture like no other regional Polish folk). And this one sounds strangely similar yet different just like all highlands of the world share the very same briskness, yearning... I love it.

They would perform in downtown Minneapolis like 30 years ago. Set up in spots where the melodies would echo through the streets adding joy to any day. I bought this album back when we had culture on the streets.

@JJDvorshak

Did 2001 and the subsequent 2007 crash happen and destroy all prior cultural achievements and economic prosperity to be substituted by American corporate totalitarianism which globally destroys us and secretly plants us with cybernetics to connect us to a global AI security network wherein we're tortured and played with day and night- without most of us knowing? God. Sure seems so.

there's still culture. maybe people don't go out to support it so much.. or people don't seem to visit the channels of Real songwriters like Castle Hassall.. who get hardly any views or new subscribers, despite writing potentially future Classic songs like "Wild Rover Again" that got the blessing and best wishes from Mr Brown from The Corries when he heard it.. hint hint.. come visit.. please!!! no spam intended, just tired of no one finding my songs even though tough guys have cried when they heard them.. thanks if you let my comment stay here, it's hard being an ugly old songwriter when I'm trying to get my songs known! Best wishes to you all from Rolland at Castle Hassall on the edge of The Atlantic

Thoughts to you guys 🙏🙏
Just got back from Ecuador with my wife son father in law and met her whole family they have lots of inspiration from this music style as well as the most beautiful mountains of the Andes! Too blessed to be stressed!(writing this from her yt page)
I bought this recording in early 1990 at a performance in Venice Beach. Transferred it to CD and still have it. One of the few I kept all these years. What a surprise!
i think i saw these guys at the Edinburgh Festival back in the 1980s.. my mum would take me and my sister to cool things like that.. thanks so much mum! :) Best wishes everyone from Rolland at Castle Hassall in Scotland
Every single time I go eat lunch at the nearby Burger King (Muncie, Indiana), they are BLASTING this album in the dining area. This has happened no less than 4 times. Last time I asked the manager to put on something that makes me want to eat a hamburger (like Kid Rock) and then he just turned the music up. This does not put me in a burger eating mood

I believe music transcends time and space, as with water that´s not created nor destroyed it was present long time ago and will continue to vibrate at the smallest levels. We´ve common ancestors at far away continents
Such a moodlifting music, you can feel the musicians simply wanted people to have good time. Always brings a smile after a day of work

I was listening to this once, and an interesting thought popped into my head. With colonialism and the export of European styles of music and instruments and the impact that's had on music worldwide, I wonder just how "alien" that untouched music would sound to us had it survived this long and evolved on their own.
Melodias del hermano pais del 🇪🇨 bellos San Juanitos.
Gorgeous! so sad it’s not on any streaming platform 😢
Kindly mention the name of the group/ band? They are definitely not Inti Illimani or are they? What are those tribal howls and hoots? Is this shepherd's music? Can there be bit more information on this form of music and the musical groups please. With love and regards from India 🌺🙏🌺
