As a kid I would have been so jealous of Sophie. We got to go once a summer to kings island or holiday world. A multi week trip to all these amazing parks literally would have been a childhood dream of mine. You're great dad!

Intimidator 305 is my favorite coaster ever, I know people hate the positives on it, but I’m all for it, I love the intensity and ESPECIALLY THE SPEED. it’s insane. I love every second of the ride. Also I really like Woodstock xpress. I’m not ashamed to admit it at all. Also dominator is fun, and twisted Timbers is my number 2 overall and in the park. I love the airtime, but I love the speed and positives more of I-305. Also, grizzly is pretty rough, but I love the setting in the woods.

I’ve been a fan of your channel for a couple years now. I took my first trip to KD yesterday and today. After watching your reviews of I305, I was worried it would be flat or something. Omg! Let me preface everything with this: I only have 64 credits up to this point. I’m 41 years old. But my God, I305 was clearly my #1 at KD. Above Twisted Timbers. I got 8 rides total on I305 and 5 rides on TT. The speed and intensity in the front row are just unmatched in my opinion ( it’s like what Millennium Force should be). I didn’t care for the back row at all. I thought there was way more airtime in the front car actually. And if I must say, this coaster isn’t about airtime. I know we all have our opinions about that, but I was blown away by this coaster.

Just went there today and rode i305 for the first time. That ride is so good I just couldn't get enough of it. Everytime I looked at it, I wanted to go back on.

Those one word reviews are the best in the business. These family vlogs are just so heartwarming. My 3 year old is also named Sophie, and so far Firechaser express is her favourite coaster.

305 is definitely in my top 5, absolutely insane!!!! Love it!! Want it in my back yard!!!!

This park was so packed last year. I was lucky to ride I305 and Twisted Timbers twice, and I missed both sides of Racer 75, Anaconda, and Woodstock

I'm glad that you had a fun time revisiting the park that you haven't been there for 4 years! Also, sorry that Intimidator didn't impress you after you ride on it! But look at the bright side, at least you went on the new roller coaster named Tumbili! By the way, your daughter Sophie had a fun time there!

Kings Dominion is a very underrated park. I305 is my number 7 coaster.

KD is my home park. It feels weirdly empty without Volcano. Not just the ride, but the mountain itself. It was such a staple of the park even before it was Volcano.

Even with gas prices the way they are the crowds have seemed to go back to normal pre-2020 levels. Last year the crowds were nuts with people wanting to get out and do stuff

I finally got to visit KD back in May, and had a blast! Twisted Timbers and I305 are awesome, but I agree with you, Grizzly felt like being in a blender. I legit thought I had chipped a tooth and never wanna do that again!

The moment I saw the paint mixer, I thought: "This is gonna be bad, isn't it?" Then the punch animations/sound effects started, and I thought, "Yep, it's bad."

Need to go to that park sometime. Going on a 4 park tour soon. Adventurland, kings I, Indiana beach and finally lost Island. Can't wait to ride so.e bucket list coasters

I think its the opposite...i want to like it but truth is i only really enjoy the middle section. I REALLY love that section tho...but the beginning and end are so mediocre at best

Glad you had a great day at KD! I agree about Twisted Timbers...it's an airtime machine! I rode Grizzly about 5 years ago and yes, it is almost unbearable. I'm curious as to your thoughts on it's cousin, "The Beast" at Kings Island? I just rode that one last week and I have to say it's still awesome. That ending helix is otherworldly! Keep up the great content!

Grizzly was painful, yet I still went on it 3 times; Anaconda was one and done for me. I've heard that Son of Beast was notoriously rough, so I wonder if grizzly is comparable to what SoB felt like.

Cant wait for that new track on grizzly and the subtle changes down to the ground.

I was there the same day as you and yeah there were literally no lines. Also I was that one awkward kid who said hi in the Apple Zapple Line lol.

I rode skyrush last week and in line I thought about what you said about the restraints. I had no issue with them in fact skyrush is now my number 2 coaster behind steel vengeance. Can’t wait to go to kings dominion your daughter is a trooper mine just got over her coaster fear and she’s 16

Skyrush hurts thighs if you get a wing seat. TBH only coaster I felt like holding onto the restraints at times for. It has the ejector of El Toro at times with the speed and intensity of I305 lite.

Also got a night ride and the last ride of the night on twisted timbers and I couldn't agree more that ride is relentless out of your seat constantly.

Its my number 4. Only coasters ahead of it are El Toro, Iron Gwazi and Steel Vengeance in that order. Yes i rank I305 higher than Velocicoaster and Pantheon

FYI, they use to run 1 side of the Rebel Yell backwards later on, early 90s I believe. That was fun. You would have loved that.

I305 is an experience. Too bad they don't really have any shirts... only junior size and some hats. A shirt is the best way to show off a credit of your favorite rides. Definitely need to try and go back in the coming weeks.

Oh man, Sophie is definitely pulling ahead of me come Six Flags over Georgia. I've got work to do.

I was at this park just a month ago, and I’ve had a similarly atrocious experience riding Grizzly. A fitting name for a brutal ride.

Just went to this park for the first time last weekend. And intimidator is my new favorite coaster. It’s intense but I don’t find it as intense as most people say. It’s just fun, and so fast. Love how it gives you airtime just by turning you to the side. I wish it was closer and it was in a park that appreciated it more. This coaster should not be a no wait coaster most the time.

My #1, too. I've only ever been to KD once, but riding I-305 is an unforgettable experience. I imagine Chris has a different scoring system for how he rates roller coasters, but not in top 50. That is crazy.

Sprit Light productions its Intimidator 305

Woodstock Express (then called Scooby Doo Ghoster Coaster) was my first credit back when I was a kid. It was 10 years later when I would ride another coaster again, but I think dad still has the on-ride photo of us on my first credit.

A floorless used to be my #1. 2002-2006 (Medusa West). An SLC was my #1 for 6 months, but that's because it was my first large coaster. 😆

I might be in the minority here but Inamins Gigas & Hypers always rank higher on my list than B&Ms. B&Ms are good but once you ride one B&M Hyper/Giga, you've pretty much ridden them all. Inatmin really knows how to make a one of a kind experience like I305. Its a top 5 for me for sure.

I will agree that Intamin makes more interesting rides. Intamin.....goes there......but the rides are pretty unreliable historically But B&M makes a more consistent ride within their usual layouts and forces.

B&Ms are fun, but they've gotten too graceful over the years. Biggest comparison is Raptor vs Banshee, Banshee is downright boring compared to Raptor

I just rode La Vibora for the first time last week. It was the first bobsled coaster I've ridden since The Screamin' Delta Demon at Opryland. It was surprisingly fun. Avalanche & Flying Turns were both down last year when I visited. I didn't think Anaconda was as bad as everyone says & I'm not too fond of Arrows.

I missed this one, hmmmmm, I need to get to KD before my body is completely carbon fiber and rods. Great vid……I would love to get to your home park, did you say, dern, I forget, you told me one time.

Totally agree with Grain Grill! I still can’t believe I was able to get steak and shrimp with my dining plan there

Poor Anaconda. it doesn't deserve for Sophie to think it's worse than 80 rides she hasn't done yet. Also Grizzly is one of two coasters that I think broke my back. Just painful.

Intmidator 305 is nuts, and I marathon it out the ear. I have had a few laps where I didn't gray out or black out. Twisted Timbers is a strong RMC and a great fit in any park. I will sometimes recite lines from Talladega Nights on I305, most commonly Shake and Bake.

It's been great seeing Sophie as she steps up to the bigger & crazier coasters. It will be Amy's turn before you know it. Regarding Grizzly, it's sad to see what's become of it. My rides in 2018 were fun rough. My 2021 rides were absolutely terrible. Good call not taking Sophie on it. I was just riding Twisted Timbers today, but not the one in Virginia. I tried to make believe that it was the one at Kings Dominion.

Honestly, I wanted to get there the following week, but I didn't have enough time, but I-305 will be something I will make a point to ride. People told me that BGW is a better choice, I was actually gonna pick KD for I-305 and finish off my US gigas, but BGW looks like a lot of fun

I don’t know if other people had this experience, but Dominator was the roughest B&M I’ve ever been on. It was like how other people seem to describe Scream.

Have you heard of Rougaru? I rode that coaster when it was at Six Flags Worlds of Adventure/Geauga Lake, and called Batman and it wasn't bad. I get that that was over a decade ago though.

It was perfectly smooth for me, rode it just earlier this month in the Second Row and Back row, no rattle, no headbanging

I305 will always be my favorite. But the best I’ve done is SteVe it’s so hard trying to rank when it’s my fav but Ik it’s not the ebst

Managed a trip this weekend! I305 is insane. I've never been so breathless after a coaster. Twisted Timbers is a blast. Tumbili sucks lol. That's basically a Zipper on a track. What a vomitorium. 🤣

I went to Kings Dominion for a school music department trip, and I wasn’t aware of the locker situation at Twisted Timbers, and me and a couple others we were with were out of cash to pay for a locker so we didn’t get to ride :(

Grizzly is actually a solid wooden coaster now with the new retracking.

Watching this after your Busch Gardens Williamsburg video, you really see how much nicer BG is. Not that there is anything wrong with KD, but man, BG is just such a nice park with a great atmosphere and coasters. KD has a lot of filler, while BG does not.

@@AirtimeThrills I live in the Richmond area and have been to both dozens of times the past 30 years or so, and BG has always been much nicer. For a while there, they lacked in putting in new stuff, but since they added Verbolten, they’ve really been on a tear. So I agree, they have quantity and quality now. It’s nice that KD was the water park included, though, and they do have more kids stuff, which is nice if you have kids. I do miss Volcano, though.

I to am in the starting process of teaching my daughters the way of the coaster. She reached 48 inches this year.
