    I have looked so long for how to clean the filter without the water continuing to come out of the pump because I have no shut off on the hoses. Finally your video showed me the common sense method of just putting it up higher! Why didn't I think of that? Thank you so much! I've gotten more out of your video then the many others I've watched that didn't give me any useful information.

    I don't know if anyone else said this but under your "con" you said the pump has to be close to the pool but that's not entirely true. In the manual it says to install the pool with the holes for the pump facing toward you power outlet for the pump. Meaning if your pool was turned 180 degrees the pump could have been around 3 meters away from the pool. I realize that this is not always possible because of where the water needs to be emptied :) Other than that your video was GREAT! Intex webpage did not work at all and your video explained everything super clearly! THANK YOU! 😊

    @DutchSailingFamily

    Hi Jose! If you mean the cable length, mine is about 4 meters. I've used an extension cord, I seem to remember Intex recommending not to, most likely because of the added risk of electrical wiring and water.. I hope that helps a bit! 😃

    This filter pump came with my metal frame 15’x48” intel pool. Thanks for the video! I’m having trouble finding a pool vacuum that works with this filter though. We were gifted the intex automatic cleaner, but the hoses for it don’t thread to the 636r’s fittings. Is there a way to make it work or is there another vacuum I should look at? The hoses for most vacuums are 1 1/2” and I think the hose connections for this filter are 1 1/4”.

  • @DutchSailingFamily

    @DutchSailingFamily

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hi Mike, I'm not sure what the solution is here. It seems the automatic cleaner is made for bigger capacity pumps, hence the different diameter hoses? I believe the maintenance kit, which includes a pool vacuum, that works with the pump that you are seeing in my video here, is this one: amzn.to/2XRmqaM Please double check yourself before buying , as I don't own that kit so can not guarantee it =)

    Thank you for great video. One question. Do both, in and out, hoses connected to pool need to be below water surface? More specifically, does the higher one that's returning water into pool need to be submerged? My bestway pool has return hose pretty high and I'd like to keep water level lower for safety of my younger child and to prevent overflow when they play if the pump will still work properly by doing so.

  • @DutchSailingFamily

    Hi!! In my video about the pool itself I talk about that a bit, it's definitely important to limit the size of the pool on the roof of course, a pool filled with water weighs plenty like you say! 👍

    Hi, thank you so much for this. I got the pump today and whilst i got it up and running this really helped me feel confident it was done right! One question. Do you leave the pump outside all the time and then simply plug in to an extension chord when you want to use it? I worry the plug will be outside in the rain and be dangerous when i plug in to use? But then I can’t exactly take it off to put inside while not in use?Or is that I should do?

    Hi Fluchtwege! You will have to add chemicals as well really, or the water will grow algae very quickly in these climates.. I did add chemicals but after four weeks there was quite a bit of sand as I didn't cover the pool, so I drained half of it, and it is much nicer again now.

Do you see water flowing at all? If there is air in the tubes, there is lots of noise and you did the right thing, then you should switch it off. Question: we have to set up the longer pipe to the top hole of the pool and the shorter one on the bottom hole and connect it to the lower hole in the filter it’s self and then twist the top and then switch it on ?

  • @DutchSailingFamily

    @DutchSailingFamily

    4 жыл бұрын

    In a nutshell yes. Main thing is with this exact pump, water goes into the pump through the top connection of the pump, and out through the bottom one. And the top knob is for getting all the air out of the pipes, which you have to do otherwise it will not work and could get damaged! You have to close if before switching the pump on. If your setup is exactly like mine, its easy, but if slightly different, best to check you user manual too! Good luck!

    I put a new gasket in the lid (Gray part) due to a water leak but it still leaks as the top does not get tight and can be pushed up and down. Is there a gasket in the lid itself and also another gasket that I saw you put on the base in this video or does the top with the air release not have a gsket on the underside?? So two gaskets or one ???

    Hi Chris! Sorry for a bit of a delay with this one, you probably figured it out by now. But the pump on top that I have, has a large gasket / seal and then a small one also under that little air release valve. So in total there's 2!

    Hi again fluchtwege! Me being in Qatar I use whatever I can get my hands on, so far I could not find stock of the proper products. So I'm using a chlorine tablet that I turn into powder.
