I need to get a life jacket, especially since I don't swim, before I test it out but I think I'll like it very much, got the two man so if I want to go on an extended camping trip I can carry more gear. Have you had to patch it at all? I put two tiny punctures in the side wall today. The patch kit includes three kinds of patches but no instructions and no glue. 2 self-adhesive backed, 2 clear silicone feeling, and two actual shell material. Any input is appreciated.

  • @SparkFishing

    Thanks for the comment. Actually I had to pair some punctures. The patch kit the comes with doesnt work well. I have had several inflatable boats before and the best way to pair is to use the Shoegoo. You can find them online or walmart. These are the proper steps for repair 1. Use detergent water and spray on area that you think holes are at. (You will see bubbles coming up. 2. Mark all of them and wipe and dry. 3. Deflate your kayak and apply a thin layer of Shoegoo.(apply about 1inch diameter around the hole) 4. Reapply once or twice. And let it dry completely. 5. Check again with soapy spray to see if it leaks. 6. Done!! It is a semi permanent way to repair. I fixed mine about 10months and still no issue!! I hope you find my trick helpful!

    They are nice. The last time I took mine out, the chair and floor were losing air very slowly. I confirmed that the floor lost most of the air by using the gauge. I did find a shell under the floor and chair and I am hoping that it was the cause. I love the kayak. I take it out on Lake Michigan on the coast.

    Those of you who purchased this kayak recently mind sharing where you got it at and the price? The MSRP is $250 but many merchants are price gouging it to double or even triple. Not just this kayak but just about every inflatable I seen both boats and kayaks, double to triple in price on Amazon, Ebay you name it. Then many models are straight up sold out. In the past 11 years I've been kayaking i have not seen such a demand for inflatables ever.

  • @SparkFishing

    @SparkFishing

    4 жыл бұрын

    Yeah, I think the price has a lot to do with supply issue. Many factories were shut down due to the virus so this summer inflatable kayak produced a lot less.

  • @SparkFishing

    @SparkFishing

    The valve has a locking system. You can simply push in and turn to make the air not going out. Your valve is probably pushed in so that it can deflate easily. I think you will figure it out how it works. If not please let me know again I will answer any questions you may have.

  • @SparkFishing

    @SparkFishing

    So the price goes up and down a lot, espcially on Amazon. There isn't enough supply at this point that is the reason why some sellers are selling it for really high price. I suggest you look into some offline stores or wait untill it comes for about 200$ When it first came out the price was around 205-209$. Personally, I just got used to sitting on the deflated seat. I didn't even bother inflating it after awhile. If you want, you could buy a kayak seat separately and try to install that instead. I don't think every kayak has this seat deflating issue but its about the only flaw it has.

    I can't use bigger skeg. When I fix it - it is curved in one side (not stand in 90 degree). And when you paddle the kayak it turns in one side, doesn't go straight. So I can use only small one skeg. The quality of kayak is not perfect. And after about 10 times, the seat started to leak the air.

    As long as the kayak doesn't feel soft it is fine. It is typical for a inflatable product to loose little pressure due to the temp difference in air vs water. If you want to have the pressure high in the water, just give it bit more pressure. but if there is a puncture or hole, the kayak will significantly lose pressure quickly. (in one hr lose 1/4 of the pressure) Please let me know if you have anymore questions!

    Mine absolutely sucks, and so does Intex. All of my seats were defective, they only replaced one, which ended up defective as well. The other one of these I bought has had multiple punctures. They are very cheaply made, and are definitely not durable despite the way Intex markets them. Intex left me hanging and did not honor their warranty policy. They really suck big time. Avoid Intex, and this product in particular.
