Few women could match her beauty especially in the 80's but after she turned her back on showbiz she showed her true inner beauty - what a beautiful kind soul! She will be missed greatly, we can take comfort that she completely changed her life around and lived more than 20 years past the time the Doctors told her she had little chance & that she is no longer suffering physically, she dedicated her life to God. Her testimony is a powerful one! R.I.P. Denise Matthews.

After reading up more on her life story... I can see and understand her so much more. This woman was so beautiful and people were to intrigued by that they couldn't tell that this woman had some core issues. Just laughing and giggling through the pain. I met her in the 80s at a club in DC called Tracks. She was so down to earth, kind, sweet, and extremely beautiful. She signed a few things for me, gave me a hug and a sweet kiss on the cheek. I cherish that memory.

She just seems nice and friendly. No slurred speech, drifting off, nothing. If she's high, like everyone wants to believe, then she's a pro. She's giving a better interview than most sober people.

Not necessarily. They could very well have the same father. Mixed offspring can come out either phenotypically more "white", more "black" or "mixed" looking. They don't always have to possess one particular phenotype. Genetics is interesting like that.

She was way more hyped up here than her earlier interviews. If she wasn't high she was dying to get high as soon as this was over. She got too crazy for Nikki and he was strung out on heroin at the time. Such a beautiful women. A cautionary tale.

He had a death grip on it and she was trying to yank it away several times. Also when she came out, he gave her an exxxtra good hug, and she turns to the audience after, in an, oh my goodness kinda glance. +Gunnhild Edwards Yes I noticed that too. She does that kinda incognito sniffle a few times and has that sound in her voice like her nose is numb. She does several gestures towards her nose like she wants to itch it or some crumbs are about to fall out of it. I think she did a little toot toot before the show to boost her confidence. It must be extremely nerve racking to be the center of attention in front of hundreds of people, let alone cameras and millions of viewers watching your every move. I really like her tho, you can tell she was a good person and wow what a sexy singer and dancer.

Nikki never gave her a ring. So he was taken back by it. Nikki had a Vanity tattoo at one time. He had it covered up.

nikki 6 left her I believe three days before getting married. they were both on a drug addicts caught in a world of fame. no matter how many men she's had after Prince,her heart was always with Prince. Either Prince had a type he preferred or he always was with women who resembled vanity. as beautiful as his women were after Vanity,none compared to Vanity's beauty. her soul was just as beautiful.

I just heard that Vanity died. Of the menagerie of women Prince associated himself with, I'm an Apollonia fan first, but it didn't mean I disliked Vanity. As someone who also dated Nikki Sixx for a while, I always looked upon Vanity as the lovely lady who bridged the gap between the realm of heavy metal and the Paisley Park scene. This is from 1987! Arsenio Hall was the host of The Late Show in 1987. Joan Rivers was the host in 1986. Vanity was gorgeous, her sister was pretty too. She looked so happy announcing her engagement to Nikki Sixx but it was such a toxic relationship.

Saw VANITY in Chicago with VANITY 6, THE TIME &...PRINCE❗ January 1982. Awesome show.

Another note, Actress Troy Beyer who wrote the movie B.A.P.S had a beautiful cousin from the east coast that played that devilish part in "Coming to America". Her name escapes me. Probably because she was getting pretty close to 1 that was dear to my heart at the time..:-) Again time heals all pain. :-)) Just a little 1st hand experience clarification...
