An excerpt from Haydn's Sonata in E-flat that Lestat played in "Interview With The Vampire"
It's usually played faster, but Lestat played it slowly in the movie:
"Not quite furioso... moderato... cantabile, perhaps...Claudia...you've been...a very...very...naughty little girl..."

I don't know why but every time I hear Beethoven's 'Moonlight Sonata', I'm reminded of Lestat too!

It's the other way around. Moonlight Sonata was written first.

Albert Lugo Haydn wrote this sonata 1789/90; Beethoven’s Moonlight sonata was 1801. Your comment is neither accurate nor helpful.

This gives me the chills... I swear, they did an AMAZING job getting the feeling of the 17 and 1800's in Interview With The Vampire..
Tom Cruise NAILED the role. Hit it outta the park.
"Claudia; you have been a very, very naughty little girl"
I can feel my fangs growing listening to this masterpiece.
*Listen Louis. There's life in these old hands still. Not quite Furioso. Moderato? Cantabile, perhaps.* How can it be...? *Ask the alligator. His blood helped. Then on a diet of snakes... toads... and all the putrid life of the Mississippi; Slowly, Lestat became something like himself again.* ... *Claudia... You've been a very, very naughty little girl.*

+CreepYourSmile This was my childhood movie, I kinda know the script by heart lol. I've been playing the piano for a year, and I love Lestat's Sonata. :) You should learn the piano, it's really therapeutic and if you're angry you can create something rich with emotion - even if that means just bashing some keys lmao

BexxyBue lol Oh yes :) Playing guitar is my therapy, though its not quite the same as playing piano. The sound can be very soothing/creepy, just like playing a cello, or the like. There are just certain sounds that I cannot achieve with my guitar. I will learn, eventually. It just takes time :)

It is NOT called ''Lestats sonata'' , it is Joseph Haydn Piano Sonata No. 59 In E-flat Major (second movement ADAGIO CANTABILE) used in movie ''interview with vampire''

You do realize as someone who's clearly a skilled pianist (with sheet music in front of him mind you), he probably not only knows the name of the piece, but it's probably on his sheet music as well. He used Lestat's Sonata as the title because, as you say, it was used in Interview With The Vampire. Which is a popular movie, and this is from an exciting part of the movie, meaning people will search for it.

I never knew the name of this piece, so when I looked up "lastat piano" this video came up. It's not the actual name of the song, but without those keywords or the title, I never would have found it. 👍
