I really enjoyed it and I read 7 of the books! I thought there was gonna be more of a battle with the vampires and Louis but I'm sure it was a budget thing. But I loved the reveals and the ending was so epic! Seeing a messed up Lestat, then finding out Daniel was turned. The pissed off vampires speaking telepathically got me excited. I want season 3 now!

Worst pacing of the series, really disappointing. Armand went out with a whimper and no lines after we saw these brilliant scenes the two actors are capable of in episode 5 what a waste. A lot of confusing choices, too choppy.

I immediately noticed Daniel's fingernails and the sunglasses during the TV appearance, I LOVE that they went this route.

I got chills when Lestat mentioned Akasha, and the ending, Louis has the blood of Lestat, meaning he also has part of the blood of the first vampire, plus Armand's, Louis wants all that smoke, he's an absolute unit and he knows it

louis getting back with armand just to spite lestat was crazy, their relationship was doomed from the start

really love the full circle moment of daciana's "we own the night. We own nothing" and then throwing herself into the fire, to Louis's "i own the night" declaration, now finally accepting his vampire nature, adding color to life via art and clothing, daring the other vampires to fuck around and find out because he's not suicidal anymore, he's not enduring anymore, he's living and he will fight tooth and nail for it. i think the tonal shift for the theater burning scene was more to represent his state of mind at the time than to imply the memory was false. it had this very chaotic film noir feel, with the big jazz band score and snappy editing. very appropriate for the late 40s as well lol and i think thats true for the rest of the episode after louis leaves armand. he's no longer being constrained and repressed by himself or armand, so the tone of the episode is reflecting that. its such a small thing but im dying to know if pointing out the lestat speaking telepathically continuity error means he really can (maybe because of akasha's blood) or if he was remembering it wrong. because i dont think it was a coincidence that lestat called armand a gremlin again in magnus' tower. hashtag dreamstat was real truthers rise ✊

i find it really interesting that louis says daniel was turned out of “spite,” when in the books, daniel being armand’s first fledgling is super important, so i’m curious to see what will become of their relationship in the show!

@@Roldycasual i agree! but that’s why i think there’s much more to their relationship than has been revealed so far…personally, i believe the “chase” era of their relationship like in qotd has already happened in the past, and that daniel’s memory of it has been erased, and that in the present day we’ll get a reversal of that dynamic with daniel trying to find armand

This show is truly one of the best. I rarely watch tv now but this is one of the exceptions. Every episode just surprises me despite me knowing what to expect. Every cast and crew member deserves awards each. I'm so excited for season 3. Did not expect the twist with Daniel but I live for it.

This episode gave me everything I wanted in a finale. When Daniel starts to unravel Armand's lies I was bursting with happiness. It was so well done. I was afraid that this episode wouldn't reveal that Daniel had been made a vampire by Armand but they did it and I'm so happy. Also, Akasha was mentioned! I've loved watching this with you. Next season is going to be amazing!

I wasn’t expecting that twist at the end!! Armand said he loved Louis and wanted him more then anything in the world !! Yet he was going to let him be killed. It makes me wonder did Armand ever love him at one point or just used Louis to hurt Lestat for not wanting him? I’m so proud of Louis for leaving him, beginning the healing process and acknowledging his mistakes with Lestat. So much growth for both of them

I think Armand was deeply insecure of the relationship between him and Louis. Like if someone that moved you to want to start properly living again after centuries of being pushed into a position you never wanted to be in, kept making it apparent that he didn’t want labels or wouldn’t even tell him he actually loved him (ep 6), it becomes more understandable that Armand probably didn’t trust him or thought he could lean on him. It’s either him or the Vampire Coven that he’s known for way longer and gotten used to. I think it was a painful decision on Armand’s part, and that’s why he had the biggest look of guilt on his face after the Judas kiss that damns Claudia and Louis.

I already stated my theory in a different comment, but my thought is, why did armand let the interview happen to begin with after everything that went down in 1973? Did he want Daniel to disrupt his and Louis' relationship just like he did when Lestat disrupted the Paris coven in the 1700s? And why make Daniel a vampire when he previously stated that the idea of making more vampires was appalling? I think Armand was playing a bigger game and I can't wait to see him and Daniel interact in season 3

I absolutely adored this episode! It gave me everything I actually wanted while setting up for the next season. And I'm so happy that Daniel & Louis are still friends! The Louis and Lestat reunion killed me. Give Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid their emmys right now!

And I'm so happy you're doing more interview with the vampire videos because this show deserves so much more recognition!

It was so beautiful seeing lestat and Louis together again i can't wait for season 3

The mention of Akasha was such an amazing point. Won't spoiler too much for you but basically she is known as the Queen of the Damned, she was the first and Original vampire, shes over 6,000 years old and is at this point of the story the most powerful vampire to ever exists. She will be making her first appearance in the Immortal universe in the third season. There was also a movie on her that came out years ago staring the black singer Aaliyah who unfortunately died after the film was made.

@@Mel-vh8rt in the books he becomes invulnerable to fire and can go out in the sun thanks to drinking her blood, however it's definitely going to be different in the series. Just have to wait for S3 to come out, they start filming in Prague this fall season.

@@jaxsontuttle4932 SPOILERS yes, in the books Armand turns him after 12 years of Daniel asking for it, take in mind that this would've happened in the 70s timeline, and in the show it's hinted that this happens too, though obviously under different circumstances, one the hints at this being Daniel's eyes changing color from purple/blue to Armand's amber eyes while he asked about his 'Maker'.

In my mind both seasons are a single one with 15 episodes. And what a spectacular season of television. I applaud everyone involved in it.

Remember during the trial/ play Lestat said " your underestimating Claudia's strength " Lestat is her maker so... it brings me to when Claudia's asked the man in the audience to remove his hat...then she says thank you now I know all of your faces if there is an afterlife or a way to come back...I'm going to effing kill every single one of you. What if Lestat did some mind trick on everyone in the theater and they thought Claudia died but she didnt😮Far fetched I know bit would love to see her be able to come back ❤Such a good show❤❤❤

In the books Daniel is to Armand, what Louis is to Lestat. But given how things went, it looks like Armand turned Daniel out of spite (in the books to was do to love) so I wonder how their relationship will change

I think 1. Armand liked Daniel - not loved, but felt sympathy for him 2. Armand wanted a bit of revenge - so he turned Daniel against his will 3. Daniel Molloy "is not a boy" - not anymore - he won't let himself be bullied around by some immortal teenager Oh how I want to see their dynamics.... right now! I need a time machine. Maybe that was an experiment? Armand wants a companion. His attempts seem to fail again and again. Maybe he really wants to understand what is so fascinating about Daniel? And he was like: ok, this guy hates me already, so if i make him a vampire it's not a big deal, he won't hate me more. Let's see where it gets us.

Spoilers: She was the first vampire. She became a bloodsucker when the spirit called Amel entered her body couse he wanted to know what it means to have flesh. He got into her blood like a poltergeist into a bit of furniture. But his spiritual body was too big - he was too concentrated inside of her. So Akasha started to share her blood with people around her. So basically vampires in Ann Rice's books are collective body of this spirit Amel that resides in their blood. If Akasha is damaged - so are all the other vampires. That's why she and her husband Enkil were kept safe by vampire Marius.

I just finished watching the finale of Interview With The Vampire, and my God, season 2 is a masterpiece! The story, acting, cinematography, character arcs, and dialogs were all stellar! Everything about that show is perfect! It's literally the best show on TV right now! Sesson 2 gets a 10/10

FKA Twigs is born to play Queen Akasha. Eve Best is central casting for Lestat's mother/ fledgling Gabrielle de Lioncourt. Mads Mikkelson would be an ideal choice for Marius de Romanus, who made Armand. Charles Dance, who would be tragically horrifying as Lestat's creator Magnus.

If they do this *right*, they'll follow the books to conclusion. Book Two, "The Vampire Lestat". (Already confirmed in the season 3 synopsis.) Book Three, "Queen of the Damned". I'm hoping that the showrunners *at least* adapt these in order, before they completely diverge from the source material. The first three books PLUS the other Vampire Chronicles should keep them busy for years. :-)

Omg! I freaked out so bad when Daniel took off his glasses! I was thinking that he looked like we wasn't sick anymore but I thought maybe it was just a new medication and like the adrenaline high from the success of the book. I went from angry at Armand to crying my eyes out at the reunion between Louis and Lestat to laughing my ass off at the interview with Daniel (it reminded me so much of his character Barry Champlain from Talk Radio) to screaming and jumping up and down when Daniel took off his glasses and asked about his MAKER!!!! After last week's episode with Claudia and Madeline's death I was so angry I wasn't sure I could watch the finale. I wanted all of the vampires to just burn even Louis because he is the reason she was turned in the first place. I thought I was just done but I decided I wanted to see what happened to Daniel and the book because I really love Eric Bogosian's work and I care about Daniel. But I am so glad I watched it. Sorry this is so long winded I just wanted to say I just found your channel. I am so glad I did. I love hearing and seeing other people's reaction to it. Thanks for having a great channel.

And yes, *spoiler, I guess*, in the books, Daniel becomes a vampire. I remember we see him more in "Queen of the Damned". Not "The Vampire Lestat". If they do it right, the focus of next season will be Lestat all day, everyday. :-) Melodramatic camp with a touch of hubris. LOL And if you mention watching the movies, you have to watch the maligned "Queen of the Damned" too. Worth it simply to see the vampire Akasha (and) the outtakes on the DVD that should've been kept in.

My goodness, Daniel is a brave bloke! The amount of times I screamed OMG during this episode. This show is just brilliant beyond words, and I will be doing a mental countdown until season 3 airs. I was NOT a fan of the 1994 film, but I'm interested to see your take on it. I haven't started The Bear yet, but ig I will look into it since I will need a new obsession after HOTD season 2 ends.

this finale is everything i could have asked for tbh. this season overall was really good; i enjoyed it more than the first season for sure. it took me a while to get over my issues with the changes made from the books, but i think i've finally (for the most part lol) gotten there.

Oh, my fkn god! Oh, my fkn god! Plot twist out of NO WHERE! I never finished the book, so if that was all in it, I am happy that I didn't know it was coming. I had to spend a few moments after it was over, picking up the pieces, cuz this BLEW ME AWAY! I understand all the books will eventually be made into television. If that is true, the "makers" will have a lot to live up to. Thank you, AMC and everyone involved in creating this epic series.

He said from the beginning that this was another way to commit suicide. Armand told Daniel that when the others see the book, they will scale the tower walls and paint the penthouse with his blood. Louis wasn't cocky. He was just saying "let's go. Give me your best shot."

Like I said at the end of Season 1: "love of my life," my ass! Louis + Lestat forever! ❤

Louis put himself in that prison with Armand and he deserved it. After "killing" and abandoning Lestat Louis rubbed Armand in Lestat's face after Lestat saved his life and Lestat returned that spite by not telling Louis the truth.

If you look closely when Daniel takes off his glasses, his eyes are blue and then change. He can control the color of his Iris

Daniel the first person that Armand turned so yeah Daniel so powerful omg 😂😭

I'm not going to say why because spoilers but Claudia's death was still better than her book death, calling Armand a gremlin is really fitting what he did to Claudia ( whether she was "willing" or not) was gruesome.

I think armand changed Daniel because he could see how useful he would be to Louis since his big secret was found out. I think he wanted to care for Louis even though it couldn't be him.

We UK folk who've had to pirate the show need to buy it and stream it when it becomes available here. Americans have little to no excuse to pirate it but I'm seeing a lot of them admit to it.

I'm interested to see what you think of the movie.... The movie is kind of more accurate to the plot points of how things go in the book... I'm sure people have told you that there was technically a time jump in the TV show compared to what time period the book is set in... The book is set like 200 years prior to where it's set in the TV show. And they changed Louis's backstory a little bit in the TV show as well so yeah I don't know it'll be interesting to see what you think of like the more of the book plot that is in the movie... The homoeroticism is also very much subtext in the movie...The TV show it's just fully in the text which I definitely prefer but you know the movie and book was working with what they were ABLE to do back then.... which wasn't much. I definitely vastly prefer the TV show and all of the changes that they have made and the quality of absolutely everything from the acting, the costuming, cinematography, the homoeroticism put into the text instead of being subtext... But the movie is also okay! Just in comparison I don't like it as much. 🤷‍♀️ But yeah I'm super interested to see where you fall on things! Some people absolutely adore the movie and prefer the movie to the TV show but a lot of other people are like me who prefer the TV show over the movie.

My only question is why would Armand save Louis if he intended on killing him along with Claudia. Armand was the one who switched the coffin and gave him his blood.

I think Armand did like Louis, but not to the point of saving him in the play. Otherwise, there's no way he would have endured Louis' behavior throughout the years.

I almost couldn’t watch the scene between Louie and Lestat. It was too much and Daniel I knew he was a vampire when I saw those nails SMH.😂 I was just sitting here waiting for the moment you realize why he is so different

I think your right that we havent seen the last of daniel. He and armand definitely have more scenes together, and i think you were onto something about his exwife alice being a planted memory. Between the 70s "being a blur" and armands fascination with Daniel i want to know if perhaps alice was a coverup for something else. What also stands out to me is when armand recounted lestats upheaval of the paris coven armand states that he "let it happen" because change could only occur if the coven was influenced by an outsider. Similarly, its interesting to me that Armand who is in complete control of his and Louis' relationship, would let Daniel back into their home after the coverup he did in 1973. And THEN spent the better half of season 1 pretending to serve Daniel and watch him work when no one was around. Why did he do that? Why did he let the interview happen when he knew the truth was bound to crop up? Did he want Louis to find out the truth and leave him after all this time so he could be free of their mundane life together? I have so many questions and i am so excited for season 3 to answer some of them 😊

Not to mention that armand previously stated that he never made another vampire because he found it appalling, so what makes Daniel so special? If it was a spiteful act why didn't he just kill him?

I might be mistaken, but was Akasha mentioned in this episode? I noticed that Lestat mentioned that he was rehearsing and that he was preparing to go on tour, which leads me to believe that the next season (if there is a season 3) will cover a slightly different version 'Queen Of The Damned' for the series. I just want to see if anyone 'else' hear Akasha's name mentioned, or whether it was just me.
