I was diagnosed with esophageal cancer 4 years ago. Dr. Blackmon was my surgeon at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. She reconstructed my esophagus. It was a lengthy, 4 surgery process. But she was determined and skilled and wouldn't let me give up. She fixed my problem and I am forever grateful. A remarkable surgeon and person.

Thank you for your response! My friend will be undergoing surgery for esophageal cancer with Dr. Blackmon next month. She seems to be the top of her field.

I like her. As a young girl that has a dream to become a heart surgeon, I found her very inspirational.

Her experience prompted me to try to locate her for my brother who has a risky lung cancer diagnosis. In my research I discovered she had transferred to the Mayo Clinic. I am seriously thinking about trying to get him there in Minnesota. Wish she was still in Houston.
