It's barely four years since Patrick Ness burst on to the children's and YA scene with The Knife of Never Letting Go. The Chaos Walking Trilogy has since gathered widespread international praises and prizes. Patrick recently took time out from putting the finishing touches to his new novel to chat with Liz Thomson ahead of his visit The London Book Fair as Author of the Day.

I feel like crying every time I think of The Chaos Walking trilogy. I love Patrick Ness !!
Just finished Reading "The Knife Of Never Letting Go" (Like 20 minutes ago) and I already ordered "The Ask And The Answer" and "Monster Calls". Cried so much when Manchee died :'(

I love Patrick Ness but is it just me who thinks the mixture of British accent with soft American accent almost sounds Irish?

I thought exactly the same thing! He does sound Irish; a beautiful amalgam of accents.

Just finished the Ask and the Answer. This man knows how to make you feel things. I can't wait until I get my hands on the next book!!
The ask and the answer literally made me cry. I was reading it during class and I just teared up almost to the point where I was almost sobbing . I didn’t sob obviously though because I was around a lot of people and it would be quite embarrassing to just burst out crying .My friend thought there was something wrong with me but I told her I was only crying because of this book. I’ve introduced this series to a bunch of people and all of them loved it
I love Monster Calls.
His voice is like a cross between american and english its so coool
Patrick's my god, I worship him for his amazing talent. Every thing he writes gets me. I just finished More Than This a month ago. I still lie awake thinking about it. Now I have no Patrick Ness to read. I still cry though, every time I read some of his work.

I just finished Chaos Walking: The Complete Trilogy and must say it is one of if not the best series I've ever read. I look forward to his new book. I'm debating now between buying his short story collection or A Monster Calls.
I'm late but I just read the knife of never letting go and I've never read a book so fast while still being focused on what was happening and it felt like I was watching a movie because it was so descriptive and had so many details
He comes across as a really nice guy.
