Interview with Noah Landis (Tension Span, Neurosis, Christ on Parade and more)
Музыка
The first day of the year is always the final day of our interview marathon and just like last year we like to go out on a bang! And just like last year we want to end with an interview partner who would be much too humble to accept his importance: Noah Landis who played a huge part in the Gilman Street scene in the 80s, when bands like Samiam, Green Day and his most famous one - Neurosis - shared the stage very frequently. Noah has a new project, Tension Span, which we already reviewed here, and thus we had a lot to talk about!
With 91 minutes this is one of our longest interviews ever, this is an interview for the ages. Noah’s new band is mighty interesting and so we focused on its songs somewhere between Industrial, Noise-Rock, Post-Punk and a tinge of New Wave attitutde. Other topics were his love for literature, his philantrophy and so much more. Enjoy our last interview for this marathon and, if you want to, give us node to who you’d like to be involved in our next marathon, starting on Christmas Eve!

I used to know Noah when I was living in Oakland in the early 90’s I had major substance abuse /mental health issues . Noah was always so cool he always let me into shows when I had no money . That’s one thing that’s awesome about Neurosis!! I’m in recovery now.
Great interview! A Mind is a Terrible Thing is one of the best US hardcore punk albums. Nice to hear Noahs perspective. Thank you.

thank you Jacob, maybe you will find more interesting stuff here and on our website?
Beyond grateful for this interview. My few interactions with Noah have always been great and I enjoy hearing his thoughts when the opportunity arises. The overall flow of the interview allowed for all who view it, in my opinion, to feel connected to the conversation while only being an observer. I'm anxious and hopeful to see Tension Span live. If I could, I'd want to audition to be the drummer; it was one of my favorite records this past year. Thanks again!
Thanks for this interview! I don't know, if that means anything to anyone in any way, but for me, it opened a door back to Neurosis. Noah, thank you for your openness, eloquence and deep thought. And Thorsten for navigating through the conversation. It made the last 90min spent rewardingly. And I have to look up and listen to Tension Span right now😅

And yeah, after all, it's about Noah and Tension Span. Focus kept and well deserved!
Spoke with Noah years ago in Ireland after a Neurosis gig in Dublin - a decent down-to-earth guy and gave the fans his time despite performing a blistering show. Great interview.
Noah is one of my heroes of punk. Serious badass. Insanity is a sane reaction
Great seeing Noah interviewed.

was an honor for me
Indefinitely it'll be asked about neurosis and Scott Kelly. I wouldn't want to bring it up, but would in a means of a legendary band I miss and very talented people in their work.
Addiction is the final flowering on a greater organism that has roots and branches. When one looks at a flowering plant you see the flower, not the roots below and the sickness lies in the roots.
Love this!

I think it would have been a pretty disgusting question to ask Noah, right? I also didn't ask Steve in our recent interview. They will tell us something if and when they think it to be appropriate, huh?

Eh I don't know man I see your point but also its kind of ignoring how much Neurosis means to their fans and how we could use some closure ourselves. Other bands sure I would see your point, but I personally wouldn't even care as much as I did with Neurosis as they weren't JUST a band but something integral to many of the people who enjoy them. I enjoy everything from GG Allin to Sun Kil Moon and their actions mean nothing to me cause they are just other musicians. Neurosis were teachers, philosophers, and brothers we did not know, and I know I'm not the only one who feels that way. @@thorstenschaeben208
Neurosis should hire me to replace Scott Kelly
