Love NECA’s line of Universal Monsters. I’d love to see them tackle atomic era monsters like ‘The Fly’

The fly would be awesome, especially if it came with a mini fly with the human head.

Thanks…finally an in depth review from a collector/sculptor, very enjoyable. I’ve been collecting for decades and I Love AHi vintage… but I can say Neca have done a great job on this figure and it was fun to hear from the digital sculptor as well. Glad the two of you are doing what you love for a career, that’s truly awesome! Thank God Universal’s Licensing dept didn’t force and silly changes like the dreaded Green Frankenstein jackets they insisted on for years. Brilliant work and great video!! Thanks for posting. Kind Regards.

In watching your video just moments ago my eyes were filled with tears of great joy. That you no your Creature (i.e Gill-man) history! I'am just like you "I'am a Monster Kid!" I'am 64yrs young. As, you already know first Creature film made in 1954. I was born '59. Fell in love with the Creature because of a plastic model kit I build as a child before I was 6yrs old. I have been collecting Creature from the Black Lagoon items for years. I, must agree with you hands down...NECA Nailed!...BEST CREATURE ACTION FIGURE YET! Hope, to get Black-White version to. In the late 80s and early 90s, I set my alarm and went to watch old classic movies in the dark. My parents had no idea, but they did wonder where I got such extensive knowledge of old movies. 😊 There was no internet or mobiles. The rest I learned from books in the library and encyclopedia we had at home. 📚

We should also do an interview of Trevor Grove. He is awesome. He still works in the old ways of wax carving. I remember seeing the complete bronze statue of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman. Absolutely amazing. I guess I’m still a dinosaur everything I do is a handssculpted I need to learn zbrush soon. Definitely one of my dream jobs. Great video I admire you guys.

My favorite sculpt was by mark Alfrey, but if that’s your work you just showed , Your work is also among my favorite! Figure wise my favorite til now is the diamond version 2 , but the paint job wash isn’t great. I dig the neca, but seems better than the prototype…but I may be mistaken. Head not as pointed …. The details are far more accurate than the mondo 1/6 I love the Chapman suit better and the head shape

The fact that NECAs Creature is asymmetrical makes it hands down the most screen accurate mold out there. Makes Mondo’s figure look like an oversized ReAction figure. The line going across the forehead on the open mouth head is due to the open and close lip gimmick they added.

The Creature is actually one of my least favorite Universal monsters, only because I'm much more of a fan of the early 30s gothic horror. I like 50s scifi and monster movies, too, but it's just a different vibe. I always thought the Metaluna Mutant was a more striking monster design. I find the Creature kind of boring in comparison, but this video has made me appreciate the design and the suit a lot more, and especially this figure as an adaptation of it. I was gonna pass on it, but now I actually really want to pick it up. So kudos to both you and Maarten for making me appreciate it more.
