This interview is so old. Both my Aunts are disabled and in their 80's. Both are very good to me when I married Ruby's son, Roger Sprague. Accurate info. Being a teacher for over 20 years and a historian of the Depression because of my own parents being Migrant workers in 1935.

Would you say you're quite better off than them?
I have been going through hard times as a single parent and I came across this wonderful video. Your mom is still inspiring women like me.
I've seen that famous picture of Florence Thompson so many times...and have always been so captivated by the harshness of the life Florence and her precious children must have endured. And now I find this wonderful video about this very inspiring and wonderful woman! Thank you for sharing this! :)
this video would’ve been great to listen to if whoever was interviewing wasn’t chiming in every 5 seconds and telling them what to say, like they’re trying to tell their childhood story

People, this is how most of the Interviews you see on TV or youtube are made. Nothing is 100% real.

i agree with you and actually those are my aunts i was just bored and looking up shit about my grand ma (the migrant mother) and ngl i stopped watching it because it was making me mad . My aunt Katherine died in around October and Norma died a few months ago. so its just interesting to go on KZread and look what my own family has to say and just knowing that my family is a piece of history. but this was just rude and its hard for me to watch bc of how he is acting
I'm moved as I think of my own mum and her migration hardships she too is a strong lady now in her eighties. Thank you to Florence Owen Thompson and the example of her indomitable spirit, an inspiration when life is challenging.
still so many fantastic insights here - thank you for sharing
What gracious and elegant women.
currently watching this march 18,2020 as USA is entering another recession/ great depression. “if you have a job appreciate it”
Thank you for sharing
is it me or she looks like Catherine O'Hara
a friend of mine bandaged florences wrist when she spained it so she could finish the day.... he then got transferred to another field …. it was just a work day for them nothing more. homer drove a tractor and heavy farm tools.
This interviewer is so incompetent.

There my great aunt't
The one article I read is that Florence told the photographer ( that day she was photographed) she was full Native American her parents both being full bloodied Cherokee. Being red-headed and blue eyed is the one daughter, how can that be?

It turned out her ancestors only had partial Native American heritage. It's always been "fashionable" to claim Native American heritage.

@@Mario_N64 Incorrect. Her biological father (Jack Christie) was a member of the Cherokee tribe but her mom was white. So she was about half Cherokee.
your Mom was a beautiful Lady
21:20 that pose is just like her mother in that famous photo.
My great aunt's
