I love how natural he gets to talk about his sexuality. Literally only with Jessi. He struggled in the year 2000 when he came out, and although he's now successful and famous, 21 years later in 2021 he still has to skip around his identity. That's just sad. He's the first and really still the only one, at least that's notable.

홍석천 씨가 그 부당한 대우를 받으면서도 끝까지 버텨준 걸 생각하면 인간적으로 너무 존경스럽다. 세상이 한 인간에게 얼마나 잔인해질 수 있는지 잘 봤어 그 이후론 한참 커밍아웃한 스타가 없었으니

제시 한국어 진짜 늘었다. 그리고 인터뷰를 자꾸 하면서 남의 말을 듣는 경청자세도 생겼다. 예전에는 어디로 튈지 모르는 불안한 애였는데. 늘 응원한다 :)

홍석천 나오면 다른 연예인들이 게이는 취향도 없다는 듯이 남자면 무조건 좋아하는것같이 말하던데 보기싫었음.. 걍 동성을 좋아할뿐이지 취향이 있는데 왜 자꾸 놀리는건가 했음; 홍석천이 재치있게 받아줬지만 실제론 무례한거 아닌가 홍석천 성격되게 좋아보임

석천이 여러 프로에 나오면서 게이에대한 많은 오해들을 바로잡아줬죠 "나 ,형이야!!" 이게 또 유명한것이 게이는 남자를 좋아하니까 여자같은건가? 라는 관념을 바로잡아줬죠 게이는 남자를 좋아하는 남자 이지 본인을 여성으로 여기는게 아니라는 점 그리고 게이도 다 취향이 있다는거..... 신동엽씨 프로그램이었던거같은데 석천이형이 참 LGBT의 대표같은 역할을 잘 해주신거 같아요

@@margie7661 His sister got divorced and had a difficult time back then, it's hard for her to raise her kids. So, he decided to adopt them for her.

진짜 존나 대단한 사람임. 일반인 멘탈로 사람의 마음을 어떻게 헤아리겠어.

이제 제시가 쌔다거나 섹시하다는 느낌보다 되게 순수하고 정많고 사랑스러운 이미지로 보인당

보통 멘탈 가진 사람이 홍석천으로 산다면 진짜 이미 너덜너덜해졌을듯 진짜 상처도 많이받고 이유없이 멸시받고 차별도 많이 당했을텐데 이렇게 방송하고 식당 여러개 했던거보면 대단함. 속이 말이 아닐지라도 버텨주세요 ..

우리나라에서 홍석천이 커밍아웃한지가 십년가까이 흘렀는데 여태까지도 커밍아웃한 배우가 한명도 안나왔다는게 정말 충격적임.. 그만큼 아직까지 한국에서는 성소수자를 온전히 받아드리지 못하기 때문이겠지

그 당시 기자한테 강제로 커밍아웃 당하고 나서 극구 부인할 수 있었는데도 공식 기자회견에서 떳떳하게 밝혔죠. 그뒤로 몇 년 동안 방송 못 나왔는데 노력 끝에 외식 사업을 성공 시킴. 그뒤에 김수현 작가가 작가 파워로 배역 발탁해 다시 방송에 나오게 된 걸로 알고 있어요.

홍석천 디게 괜찮은 사람.. 말하는거 하나하나 상대방 배려하고 위트있고 거기다 이태원에 지점도 여러개고 능력무엇.. 조카도 유학다보내주고 사람진짜 존나 괜찮음...ㅠㅠ 동성애자인거 당당하게 말할수있는것도 대단하고 본받고싶은사람임

I love how Jessi is always willing to let others out perform her. Like, she has no grudge if she isn't number one. She's real and all about just making fun content and being herself and her guest being themselves. This is how the Industry should be like.

That's because she, herself, is bullied since young for not looking "American" enough or because she's not "Korean" enough. Imagine the things she went through just by being herself when she started out in the Korean entertainment industry.

Jessi is probably the only one in the industry, currently, that can give this interview the Weight, Respect, and Sensibility it needed. Like first of all, She Knows about this kinda shit, and she doesnt see this as Taboo, look at how comfortable he is, here SeokCheon is not only Respected, but is Celebrated, and thats not something he can get easily in the Korean Entertainment Industry. kudos to you Jessi, only a Queen can host a King properly.

Gotta appreciate PSY allowing her to have to freedom to be what she's like. Most other Korean celebrities, especially Kpop stars are heavily restricted by their contract for literally everything they do, being very much like 1900s Hollywood. Sad that those companies can't keep up with the times when even the hardcore Kpop fans can.

예전에 악플의 밤에 홍석천 씨 게스트로 나오셨을 때, 신동엽 씨가 패널 분들한테 주위에 성소수자 친구 있냐고 물었는데.. 그때 설리 씨가 질문 받고 1초도 안 돼서 바로 자기는 성소수자 친구 진짜 많다고 이야기했었어요 ㅠㅠ 물론 대놓고 '지지한다' 이런 말을 한 건 아니지만, 방송에서 본인이 퀴어 친구들과 잘 어울린다는 사실을 대놓고 드러낸 몇 안 되는 케이스였죠.. frank님 말대로 TV에서 성소수자 얘기 나오면 입꾹 닫거나 존중하지만 싫어한다 같은 이상한 소리만 듣다가, 설리 씨 같은 당당하고 자연스러운 반응은 처음이었어서 놀랐던 기억이 있네요..

I get that he made it, but I still don't like it. It's turning his sexuality into a joke to make everyone else comfortable. I guess the real fault in on the society, but still.

지금보다도 더 성 소수자에 대해 폐쇄적이던 시기에 커밍아웃 하신것은 늘 대단하시다 생각하고 있지만 과거에는 홍석천님이 동성애 이미지를 너무 희화하 하시는 느낌이 들어 나무 가볍다 생각했었는데 한번 더 생각해보니 그게 우리 사회의 문을 조금이라도 여는데 최선의 방법이 아니었던가 하는 생각이 들었습니다. 여러모로 대단하신분임

그냥 개인의 특성일뿐인데 가벼운 느낌이 들게 한데도 아무 상관없죠

내가 홍석천이었으면 방송에서 커밍아웃하고 방송을 못하고 사람들한테 그렇게 질타받으면 정말 아무렇지 않게 살고싶어도 멘탈 무너져서 개명하고 성형하거나 해서 딴 사람처럼 일반인으로 살 것 같음… 진짜 대단한 사람이야…

He should be a source of inspiration too. When he came out and that was the bravest thing ever, he almost got dropped from the industry. His coming out should've been the game changer but instead it became the warning to other LGBTQ artists. Of course there are others who have come out too but they all get sidelined and ignored.

This is the first time I see Jessi so attentive, quiet and happy. They had this moment together like they knew each other well and bullying Jungshik who is being weird lol. if you watch other shows, you'd see that he plays around a lot on the fact that he doesn't like women and only likes men. that lead him to jokingly flirt with men on air sometimes like he did at the beginning with Jongsik. That saying rose up from that, you'll see some ppl commenting it under his videos for example. but he's very honest about what he likes and what he doesn't like, i feel like he's extra conscious about not leading ppl on (men or women)

He called himself the hazardous Hyung, it was one of his catch phrases and ways he introduced himself when he came out and did DJing. He put up a sign/art piece that said it at the front of his restaurant. It's because he's charming and has the attitude of "I can take your man if I want to" (if you know that trend)

But, these girls had survived from that moment n stay strong, n now they gain many fans. They even became girl-crush. From outside they look tough, badass...but from the inside, these girls have a soft-hearted person. People should learn that..everyone has their own story and problems. We don't need to add to their sadnesss with our mouth. We don't need to look down on each other, because we are all the same "human being. I want to slap the people who used to say "Hong Seok-cheon, you're not a man", which I still remember seeing on certain variety shows in the past from certain specific people. He went through a lot and even helped everyone else during the difficult survival show in the jungle. After that show no one dared to tell him to his face that he's not a man and they started saying he's very dependable, and that in itself shouldn't be considered things only a man can do. I'm glad things have been changing a lot in the past few years.
