She is so wonderfully grounded as are the other Petersen kids. I'm glad they are all grounded in Christ and are the way they are. Ultra kudos to mom and dad.

I'm not a man of faith by any means but The Petersens is an example of how religion really shines in some areas. The Petersens is an amazing band, love their stuff.

The American Idol producers have no clue why the "family band" is what makes it so special. It's not just the arrangements of the covers they do, the extraordinary musical talent of each member, it's how they interact with one another. No one hogs the spot light. They are each given their opportunity to shine and and encouraged by the other band members. Ellen is a case in point. Watch how she smiles admiringly at Julianne when she sings. And how Katie harmonizes with her on the Cranberry Dreams song to enhance her vocals. It's the encouragement that they give one another, and how each has a a special, unique talent they bring to a song that keeps me coming back for more.

Very well said. So many of us are drawn to the Petersons because they are everything that so many mainstream musicians aren’t.

I thought this would just be another interview with Ellen, but you got her to talk about things I hadn't heard in other interviews. Great job.

Great interview, Ellen. I have a deep admiration for you and your family. You inspired me to take up the banjo.

I enjoyed this interview Jigme. I've noticed that some of my Patreon friends are here. I believe that listening to the Petersens and watching how they live their lives has been a wonderful, inspiring experience. Most of us became aware of them during the pandemic. I believe that they are one of the highest achieving families I've ever seen. They live their faith-they walk the walk. If you would have told me a couple of years ago that I would be a patron for a Christian family bluegrass band I would have said "yeah, right". Now I say "Thank you Lord for the many hours of pleasure that this group of folks has given me". Everyone has heard that you can't play a sad song on the banjo. Listen to Ellen solo through "Time for me to go". It always goes straight to my heart and makes me a little misty eyed. Anyway, Thanks Jigme and God bless you. .and all those watching and listening.

I was so blessed by this and by watching the audition for Am Idol. Moreover, I was able to bless my neighbor and go see Ellen and the Petersens in Branson this December. How wonderful the show was! So worthwhile! Tonight I saw the Issacs in concert nearby in Cassville and apparently they are the newest band at the Grand Ole Opry. They reminded me of the Petersen’s -- a wonderfully talented family band with a few others. I see them all on that stage eventually, and doing what they do, too-- playing with the band AND doing their own solo music by putting out albums.

We saw the family on Nov. 2 in Branson! Fantastic! Julianne was away at school, but the show was wonderful. Talent, testimony, and taste! During the concert, after a hard-lyric song, I yelled out "Love You Ellen"! Not sure she appreciated it much, as she wouldn't acknowledge me at the meet & greet; even after I complimented her awesome shoes! Still love her, "Get it, Mama", Matt, Emmet, Katie & Julianne! Had a chance to speak to Jon for awhile, too! Did get my autographs, and will see them in Manistee, MI in April of 2023! SEE THEM!

I recently discovered the Petersens, and I'm just moved by their talent. Each musician has their own style, and individually can stand on their own. Then you put them together and they just integrate so well. The icing on the cake is the Christ-centeredness, which is actually the underlying framework of what makes them all work so well. I count it all glory to God to hear Ellen's perspective of prioritization on seeing a much bigger picture than American Idol. After all, "Idol" should be the first trigger to flag. I look forward to the host of angels and musicians giving it all when we are brought before our creator - and I can't help but wonder if Petersen's will be be part of that melodious edifying sound!

YaY! I am a fan of Ellen. I love their whole family. I follow Reina Del Cid, so when they published a YT, I saw your family. I was attracted to Ellen because I thought Ellen looked a lot like one of my granddaughters. Ellen is like 12 to 15 years older, so it was an interesting comparison, trying to look into the future. I am sure you will have more success with your loving family. I am so glad you did not decide to be a doctor.

In this interview we see the reason so many people like the Petersons. Ellen makes it clear that her family is more important than fame and money. They’re just a great family who love each other and love making music who also happen to be extremely talented. They are the anti-Nashville. Nashville’s music has gone down the drain in my opinion and for so many of us the Petersons are a breath of fresh air.

This beautiful family is the dems worst nightmare .

How You can answer that? Music is great! But . . .

Ellen talks about being comfortable in front of a camera shows everything she does a live song. She and Matt are the most comfortable with Katie and Julianne are the least comfortable. Julianne is getting better but it’s obviously not her favorite part of the video.

Looking at the top of your head during an interview isn't very appealing or respectful. You might try adjusting your camera for future interviews.
