Interview with Ann O'Connor - Mouth Breathing Awareness

May is Mouth Breathing Awareness Month!
That means over the next month, I'll posting on social media every day, trying to spread the word, and I've asked my amazing MyoMentor Graduates to help me out.
MyoMentor students and graduates are some of the most passionate dental and healthcare professionals I know, and many of them have struggled with their own myofunctional symptoms - mouth breathing, tongue-tie, sleep disordered breathing, and more.
So I'll be interviewing THEM to share their stories and highlight what they are doing in their practices and communities to help their patients.
Today I spoke with another amazing MyoMentor Graduate, Ann O'Connor. Ann is a dental hygienist and myofunctional therapist who is just getting her practice launched in Edmonds, Washington.
I love how open and honest she was in her interview. Topics like bed wetting into teenage years, and the psychological or emotional traumas that can come with that are not easy to discuss, but are SO important.
Ann really helped make links between bed wetting and sleep disordered breathing. She's also the first person I've interviewed who discussed the connection of autoimmune conditions like sjogren's syndrome and lupus to increased inflammation and sleep disordered breathing.
If you live North of the Seattle area, please get in touch with Ann! She has so much knowledge and passion to share on these topics!
