Wonderful video. I was gifted 2 boer goats and it is a huge learning curve. I'm in central CA and there really needs to be a more excessable education on how to care for them.

At 12:00 ish mark he mentioned the vet situation. We run Lucky M boer goats in Eastern Nebraska (and KZread) and I can attest to that. Most vets look at goats as a throw away animal or have no knowledge, the best resource we have is each other. Had to help a fellow producer out last night in sourcing medication for a goat running fever.

Same situation her in my part of Kentucky. Found a vet I can take an animal to, or will sell meds to me, but he doesn't do farm visits. That's why this new antibiotics regulation is so horrible! If I don't have an antibiotic on hand for immediate use, I could lose the goat. (sometimes I still do)

Wish I had seen this when it was first published. I raise meat goats in east Kentucky. It seems right in the heart of cattle country. The extension office for the county I live in are big into cattle. Not a lot of knowledge or support for goats.

This is an outstanding video thank you so very much. I am in Northern California and I am attempting to get into the meat goat market. Currently I have a small herd of Boer goats. However I am having a very difficult time locating any connections on where to sell them. I know the demand is higher then the current production. Is there a way to contact Randy directly or VIA email for any possible kind of guidance?

I run my goats with my cows. It helps with parasites both ways. My kids lay with my calves. It's a good combo.

Hello… not stereotyping here… but goat meat is eaten by various ethnic groups… Jamaicans, Hispanics, Italians, Muslims, etc…. Most prefer young intact males. More goat meat is imported into the US than any other meat! There is a high demand for goat meat especially during the Holidays! Auction prices soar for feeder goats right before Easter & ethnic holidays. Throughout the year… prices fluctuate. Tons of info on the internet. Check it out. 💜 Hope this was helpful.
