some of these viewers clearly haven’t seen richard before and don’t understand his humour... which only makes this funnier 💀

I love these two. More interviews should be like this. Different and playful.

It’s an act. He has a few personae that he uses when he has to play himself on TV, and this is one of them.

This interviewer is great - he was genuinely pissed of by Ayoade (rightly so), wasn't afraid to show it and didn't give in. This polite fight could've ended in a frustrating way, but he didn't take it personally and remained a good interviewer by going along with Ayoade's direction and still getting a good interview (an even more interesting one).

I don't think he's genuinely annoyed. The interviewer is a good comedian just like Richard and so he definitely understands his sense of humour.

@@ssh1487 You think Ayoade is just joking around? He's not. He may present it with humour but he's actually refusing the interview, because he doesn't like the typical interview questions. He's doing it in a pretty harsh way at times and to me it's clear that the interviewer isn't pleased by it (although he handles it with humour as well). Ayoade recognizes this and asks him the personal question "How are you?" to show some gentleness. Two very witty men. I'd love to see a longer interview with them.

@@user-bj2lu9qt3o True. The interviewer's fake upbeat attitude (I can't blame him, as its likely the studio's decision) clashes against Richard's dry wit. I think they both should have roasted the Baftas together instead. Now thats what the viewers want!
