The original five MTV VJs should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame needs to watch the Top Gun movie and to listen to Tom Cruise “ I feel the need the need for speed.” MTV started in 1981 they will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2081.

One of the best interviews on this channel! Now it's time to get Allan, Martha, and Nina! That would be amazing to have interviews with all 4 surviving VJs. Rest in peace, JJ.

Was cool seeing Mark on here, I grew up watching him & the other originals any chance I could. So basically it's Kurt Loder's fault Mark left, never liked Kurt or Tabitha Soren, they always gave a "we're way too smart for MTV & everyone should be lucky we're on here" vibe.

Jason, this interview was very informative and fun to watch. I’ve always enjoyed hearing stories from the VJs who made MTV possible during the early years. I was born in 1987, but I still very much enjoy watching hours of the ‘80s video blocks on MTV Classic. It’s a shame that many from younger generations don’t know that MTV used to play music videos and have cool personalities to intro the artists.

Excellent interview! Kurt Loder was the beginning of the end. He loathed rock n rollers. You always felt like he was looking down his nose at most artists. I spent so much of my Youth watching MTV. Thanks Mark for doin what you love!

Great interview Jason! If you close your eyes, Mark Goodman still sounds the same like he did 40 years ago on MTV. I'm glad you brought up that question about Bowie. I can see why he didn't want to answer the Bowie question because he gave a bad answer back then that basically people were scared to see black musical artists on TV..,.. He's a pretty PC guy so he's not going to get himself into any hot water ruffling feathers 40 plus years later....

Great Job Jason!...Yes, Mark, and the other VJs, were the cornerstone of my teenage years. He seems like a genuinely nice guy. Since I don't hold the Music hall of fame in very high regard, I wouldn't oppose it, but considering how they choose who should and shouldn't be enshrined who knows if they ever will be. Would be sad if they did get in without JJ however...Thanks again, Jason...Paul
