The Ukraine national men's basketball team under the leadership of Ainars Bagatskis is preparing for the November 2022 Eurobasket qualification window. In Ljubljana, Slovenia our team will meet on November 28 and on November 30 with the national team of Austria.
During the last training session in Kyiv on the eve of the departure Vitalii Zotov explained why the Slovenian national team is strong enough for Ukraine in spite of its European champion status, and explained what advantages the bubble format has for our team and told us about his current shape.
Zotov, 23, has already played for the Ukrainian national basketball team in two previous Eurobasket 2022 qualifying games. At the club level he defends the colors of Khimik from Yuzhny.
In two initial matches of Eurobasket-2022 qualification Ukrainian national basketball team defeated Austria on the road with the score 88:73 and on its national team lost to Hungary 60:62.
After two rounds the Ukrainians are in second place in Group F.
