For me, when I feel my severe depression and anxiety beating me too hard; I visit this site. A majority of the time, I cry. Listening to these songs brings me peace; they are ALL beautiful. Yet, for some reason the second song is especially beautiful to me. Thank you so much for sharing ♥️

Question?? So what is bird singing about? And what does it do for people? I'm from Canada, and I went to Cali last year for a powwow and for the first time in my life I heard this singing there,I was Mesmerized and sat there listening to them sing,it made felt at easy,I still listen to this on KZread..love the singing, makes feel at easy

I cannot speak for these people, just know these songs are thousands of years old, and sung in "cycles" to complete a full set. They watched the migrations of flocks of birds during the year, and this pattern of nature inspired the songs. I have been trying to record as much Bird as I can, since I live here. I have a bit of Chumash, Paiute, and Ohlone on this channel too. Peace!

There are videos on here that explain the meaning of the Bird songs, at least for the Cahuilla people. Look them up.

*A documentary was produced, called We Are Birds, here's a link to the trailer: kzread.info/dash/bejne/X45o1o-Jm8fblcY.html *And here's a link to the documentary website: www.wearebirdsdocumentary.com/ *I think you answered some of your question: what does it do for people? Just think, what did it do for you? You said, "makes me feel easy." Want to carry that question forward? I recommend looking into your own ancestral ways, before "California" was a thing and "Canada" was a thing. What are the songs your people carried? What did those songs do for them? Ánimo :D

I have always been pulled towards the native american culture but I recently came across the Bird singing and dancing and wow! Everything about it resonates deeply with me and I can't listen enough of this. It is so soothing and healing to me. I am diving into finding out as much as i can on the Bird singing. My question is, why Birds? did they have special relation to the bird beings? Is it only the men that do the singing? I love the harmonizing of everything. Thank you for any information you may wish to share.

From WeAreBirdsMoview.com:Birdsinging is a form of music traditionally sung by the First Americans of the southwest. These rhythmic songs accompanied by handmade gourd rattles are known to have been out here for at least 10,000 years, although according to oral tradition, they are even older, perhaps even 25,000 years old! These songs of our earliest ancestors are still sung by our people today. Locally, the Cahuilla peoples have a birdsinging tradition that honors each day of the year, with a body of songs numbering over 365.In addition, the Creation Story tells of a time when we were all birds, and flew three times around the world before finding a permanent home in what is now Southern California. To honor this flight, bird songs are traditionally sung over a period of three days. Other groups around the Cahuilla people traditionally shared our songs and sang and shared their own, along with other traditions, which has given the southwestern Natives a long history of cultural connectedness.
