Interstate Stone Sculpting Camp, Andhra Pradesh - Basavanna Sculpture

Karnataka Shilpakala Academy conducted interstate stone sculpting camp at Dravidian University located in Kuppam city of Andhra Pradesh, India. Shilpakala Academy is a dedicated institute for art and sculpture. The main reason for this academy to be established is that in modern days with a busy life, all humans are leading a nomadic life, and there is no time to observe nature's beauty. Shilpakala started to choose and pick the most skilful and trained sculptors or artists to show their best work on the present status to change the trend.
Basavanna was a Lingayat Saint in the Shiva-focused Bhakti movement. During the 12th century, he was a Hindu philosopher, statesman, Kannada poet, and social reformer during the reign of the Kalachuri dynasty king Bijjala 1 in Karnataka, India. A senior sculptor Mr Umaesh Lakshman Dandin from Bagalkot and a junior sculptor Mr Manu S from Mysore sculpted this art.
