1:21 Saying “I-10 East” while driving on the Katy Freeway will confuse people in Houston. “I-10 East” is what we call the freeway east of Downtown, heading toward Baytown and Beaumont. The Katy Freeway is always called “I-10 West.” That “East” on the sign just tells you in which direction you’re headed. Houstonians would describe where you were at 1:21 as “I-10 West (or Katy Freeway) Eastbound or inbound, just inside the Loop.” It’s the same with 59 (I-69] and I-45.

I love the Houston freeways especially in downtown or the intersection by Galleria. Keep up the good work!

Everything is busier in Texas!

Houston has so many highways which is why most freeways don't get badly congested!

Gonna have to disagree with you on that one, sir. I drive the Katy (not so) Expressway daily. If you're traveling out to Katy or Cinco Ranch, the expressway is jammed up from Blalock to Barker-Cypress. It lessens as you head west. Heading back towards the West Loop, it jams up from Dairy Ashford to Gessner. The North Freeway is painful, and 290 outbound stinks, too, but its recent widening has considerably helped. The burbs are a congested mess, especially the west and southwestern burbs.

Great drive! Did you know in Japan, the ETC card is issued by a bank and it has a chip that works like a normal credit card. You would also need ETC card reader which most car have it.

Great video! The East Freeway doesn't get as much love due to the Katy on the other side but it's an overall smooth drive. Definitely nobody going the low 60 MPH speed limit on I-10. People definitely doing 70 at minimum.

Definitely, nobody obeys the 60 MPH speed limit.

What's worse on I-610 is that the TxDOT decided to close the FM 1093 ramp from Southwest Fwy for months until all ramps are updated & completed :(

The elevated HOV lane west of Downtown opened in 2000. 3:51 Why did that police SUV had it's lights on. I saw a channel called 'Roads and Bridges' and it has timelapse videos that feature highway signs like your channel.
