The most accurate thing about this whole series is probably how a lack of clear communication causes the majority of Warhammer 40K problems, and certainly prevents almost all solutions.

I had second thoughts on why he shot the Inquisitor the moment Jurgen checked the servitor's mind and on the screen, it showed the Inquisitions stamp displayed: while I had inklings that Bellina's actions were extreme even my inquisitions standards this just confirmed what I thought was going on behind the scenes that her actions were seen as being excessive. Really enjoyed this series and I really hope to see more of Jurgen attempting to, if not make amends for his sins, then to attempt to steer the damage done by him and the Inquisitor and attempt to somehow salvage the system from the brink of destruction.

Some times Inquisitor hunts Inquisitor until they realise that the other is a Inquisitor, the Paranoia in the Setting is huge.

Pretty well written, a few tactical quibbles but still worth the watch for sure.

Pardon the pun, Inquisitors, but the intriguing thing about planetary intrigue is the question of how many operations are going on at the same time. A near mad Inquisitor could be planning to psychically overload a chain of planets. During this same scheme an underhive may be getting infected by genestealers, completely missed by said Inquisitor. A completely unrelated trade between a corrupt planetary guard regiment and a sector fleet of the Imperial Navy could be getting loaded/unloaded under the other two parties, unnoticed. THIS happens in our current time! To have it happening countless times across countless worlds during one of, if not THE, most despotic regimes of human history is what adds to... the intrigue.

@@Counterpoints when the eldar empire was collapsing due to them partying rather then doing their jobs they’re psychic powers went nuts mixing with the energies of their excesses creating a massive psychic scream that burned away planets and created the eye of terror and slaanesh at the same time. According eldar lore and what lore humanity knows about them. So you would think an inquisitor of all agents of the imperium would know this would make chaos worse because you would create another eye of terror. So I’m starting to suspect that bellina was compromised by the warp or so insane that she was being influenced by it. Because no sane person would mess with the warp in such a way especially an inquisitor.

​​​@@Counterpoints Well this is a late reply but I'll try nonetheless The Eye of Terror was created as a result of the Eldars having way too much debauchery of the higher order because they were literally bored out of their minds after having the reign as the apex ruler of the Galaxy long ago. Those are trillions worth of psykers too and these aren't ordinary debauchery, we're talking partying for months on end, a lot of Dr*gs, bedding time and even a ooofing or two mixed in and it's a regular thing until Slaneesh was born Said formation of the Eye wiped out 98% of the Eldars as their souls got sucked into it to create Slaneesh with the surviving members being the craftworlders who were out of the blast radius and drukhari who refuge in the Webway so the Eldars as of the 41st millennium are a dying race So Belanor's plan is quite insane and more likely to spawn a second eye of terror if that's ever possible But then again I might misremembered info though that's how the EOT was made

They should make an animated show based on Adrian Smith's art. It'll never happen, of course, GW took 40K in a different direction.

I love his artwork so much

Loved this series. Written like a true whodunnit, rife with all the cliffhangers & character flaws a protagonist (anti-hero?) could possibly have.

Definitely open ended. I enjoyed this show, didn't think I would, but I did.

This was a very classic noir animation story very Chinatown.

The necrons had a station called the Dark Throne that was the cadian pylons times 50

enjoy your breakdown and exposition man. in the grim darkness of the (hopefully not so far future) looking forward to more of the same.

Love to see more of Jurgen to go deeper into being a " good guy" which requires him to kill thousands to save the ones that don't matter in the 40K universe.

If the null aspect is caused by a pariah gene, then it doesn't make sense that the effect would stop with the death of the null. It's physiological and not spiritual...

Your consciousness is physiological. How well do you think it would fare in that situation? Operations stop when the body dies. No growth, no chemical reactions outside of decompositional ones. Nothing holding a charge. Plus its 40k, who said the physiological and spiritual are distinct? The Primarchs have physiological attributes that give them supernatural/spiritual powers. So do many others both human and xenos.

This reminds me of Kryptman and his "Tyranid Firebreak"

If they do do another season, I wonder if Jurgen will follow through with his mistress' plan. Would it fail and cause horrific consequences, like turning the psykers of those worlds into warp gates, allowing all sorts nasties to spill forth, or will it cause a massive warp storm to descend on the entire the entire sub-sector? Will it fail and cause all those planets to become lifeless husks once all the psykers explode, or would it cause the great rift to become more powerful? Would it succeed in spectacular fashion, feeding tens of billions of psyker souls into the Astronomicon and make the Emperor stronger? Or would someone interfere and blow up the astropathic choir on the world, preventing it from happening? Would Jurgen go against his mistress' wishes and keep it from happening? Would he contact someone higher up the chain of the Inquisition, maybe even the rival inquisitor? Or would he try to find a way to get the black ships to come back?

Intrestingly, her plan is a variation of Inquisitor Quixos plan to shut down the Eye of Terror of 343.M41, Quixos plan was to take Alpha+ level Psykers and super charge replicas of the Cadian Pylons around the eye of Terror, the difference being she's aiming to use billions of chaff psykers and a single blackstone focal point to generate the required psychic shockwave rather than hundreds of thousands of extreme power individuals, when you plans the same as a chaos tainted, demonhost binding nutter, who got it after reading the most corrupt book in the galaxy it's probably not a great plan. Besides it relies on a lot of assumptions, like knocking off the governors will destabilise planets enough for the Administratum to pull out rather than sending in the Guard to quell the uprising, No Astartes showing up or some other Inquisitor noticing the massive uptake in Psykers and getting involved (Ravenor ruined a whole sector wide conspiracy and he was only there checking into the drug trade), there are a few implementation issues ;-)

would been grate tie if 1st ep had the whole you dont get to pick if you let some one go it might not get paid back

@@mcmarkmarkson7115 I respectfully disagree. The producers who produce movies are only trying to make their movies as accessible as possible to as many people as possible. This is this mindset that kills original art direction. Because the risk to limit the target audience is not acceptable for them. The LBGT movement did not start this. It just happened to become more "mainstream" at the same time. Did you watch the series Arcane ? It is filled with what you might call "woke content" but it is in my opinion one of the best things that happened to animation story-telling over the last 10 years. So the problem is not "wokism" but the mindset that the producers have when they start a new project.

Gay characters and strong females is not woke. Woke is forced political agenda into an artform that was not designed for it Like making blackwashing previously established character. Animation asside (which actually doesn't bother me at all), this whole series has dialog that seems to have been written by an edgy 16 year old.
