Paul Banks has to be the most reluctant lead singer / frontman I've ever seen. Super shy. Just saw the Arctic Monkeys last night and have seen Interpol live 3 times - Alex Turner is the complete opposite of Paul Banks. Paul's gravestone will say, "I never expected to be this famous."

But Alex was super shy at the beginning, it was after they released Humbug (3rd album) when we started to developed his more outgoing persona. I believed this is Interpol after his second album. They'd been on 2 years before; same stage, similar time (slightly earlier?). The crowd were disinterested and the main attraction during the show was a genuine mini-hurricane that whipped up in the midst of the crowd causing everyone to turn around and watch until it had gone. 2 years later.. different story. Something had changed and there was a properly feverish vibe in the air. By the time they walked offstage it was like; "Hey presto! it's the best rock band of their generation!" x

Best concert of Interpol that i've ever seen. That bass in "Not Even Jail", that nostalgic voice of Paul, that feeling of Daniel and that drums!
such an amazing band
I was in love with interpols music during this period ....I don't unfortunately have the same love for their current music...I think the main difference back then ...was it seemed to breathe atmosphere

Same. I though the first 3 albums were spectacular. There's a darkness and weirdness that is missing since Carlos left. I don't care as much for the newer albums but there are some new good songs here and there.

@@deirdrekiely6187 I must add ..I’m loving the new songs I’m hearing from their upcoming new album.. Definitely a return to form in my opinion
I love the style of Daniel. And i love the passion and groove from Carlos D.

Paul: “You sure you wanna go with the armband Carlos? I mean they were kinda rough on this country?” Carlos: “Hold my custom, designer, miniature greyhound and stfu”
I just learned that New Order also played at glasto 2005 damn. Wish I could have been there, I wonder if New Order watched Interpol.

They were on at the same time, as good as having those 2 at the same Glasto would have been the choice between those two would be very hard to make. Otherwise I'm sure Bernard and Hooky would have loved to have seen them, I miss the days when Glasto was almost exclusively rock/indie bands

@@danielgrant8654 How were they both live at the same time. New Order must’ve been at some different location or somewhere further from here. If they were playing at the same time and at the same place they’d both be going like “Hey we’re trying to play music here”. But actually, if you do know, how did that work?
Carlos, surely the coolest, the best and most effortless bass player ever? 🤷🏻♂️

This is so good. I'm very happy and eager to see them live this year.
Los escucho una y otra, y otra ves...
I got to see them in LA back in 2005. I just saw them last night ❤️
