Absolutely, I saw them in Mexico last month and going into the concert I was like concerned about Paul's voice, but once the show began I was blown away, everything sounded amazingly well, this video doesn't do enough justice to how great they sound live.

he's pretty flat. I still like the performance, but he doesn't quite sound like the studio recording. the "hey who's on trial part" seems to be just thrown in randomly offbeat as well. but it's all good.

@@cuylshepherdton7437 that is very pedantic, doesnt sound like you listen to much rock music. I have seen them live since 2004 and he has never sounded better nor could o ever imagine him sounding better.

​​@@tmw3489 nah brother you're the one who seems to not listen very well, there is no doubt that Paul's voice is much better than it was during 2017-2019, but to say it sounds just like it did live in 2004 is delusional, do yourself a favour and go watch them play at Glastonbury in 05, hell even Glastonbury 2014 was pretty peak Paul in terms of vocals.

Paul's voice is finally back

Saw them at a Formula 1 race in Austin, kind of as a "why not?", and they were awesome. His voice was as crisp and clear as I remember growing through high-school, such an awesome sound.

They must be tired to play this song But even almost 20yrs after (or something like that, cause I listened to it around 15/16yo, and now I'm almost 35 !), I enjoy it the same !

@@natechenry Well, I actually thought they sounded pretty good, except on slow hands, but especially PDA and rest my chemistry sounded amazing in my opinion.

only were worth watching live with carlos d. pajo was cool too but he still just didnt hit the same vibes carlos carried to the live shows.

I went to the show in city in Mexico and it was amazing. But sucks I didn't see Sam. And I don't see him here I hope he's doing all right tbh.

To hear Interpol play The New live at Tempelhof Sounds 2022 was worth visiting the festival alone!

He doesn't sound like a goat. Just add a tad more baritone + Sam and it's perfect.

Norman should come back and to Interpol. Oh, and why is the guitar so quiet? They should crank it up more.

He's been having some unknown health issues throughout the tour, as far as I know, he's back at it at the moment.

I saw the broadcast of the whole concert. Everything was magnificent, except the expressions on their faces. I wish I am wrong, but I'm afraid there is something bad about Sam.

on her instagram, the current drummer told for a friend that is probability that he will continue playing with band in september, so i think the return of Sam not gonna be in the next few months.

This is why when a band overproduces their albums and make themselves sound way better than they actually do live, it just sounds contrived and lacks authenticity. This is one of my favorite songs and this version, live version just sounds boring. Sorry. I said it and I’m not taking it back.

very true. the second carlos left their live shows were just not worth going to. with the small exception of when david pajo had filled in his spot as the touring bassist for not even a year. damn shame to know they couldve had peter hook tour with them and potentially write their new basslines but daniel was so butthurt at the idea of them having a joy division member with them he claims he 'never saw the application' when interpol personally put out applications to fill in the role of carlos. theyre just so pathetic
