My airports have several crematoria (as usually only 2 of 8 hearses are out at a time), on the service road out of passengers' sight, along with the things normally (in CS) put on service roads - recycling center, medical clinic, police house, fire station, power source. Plus fast priority road access - I'm less worried about ambulances but may need the hearses and garbage trucks urgently! You get these at real airports, also hidden from passengers. Large airports are little towns, with chapels, shops, etc.

How exactly do you do that, being able to build without in 1 camera angle without zooming in and what not. Is there a mod for that to do video recording time lapse from 1 camera angle?

Very very nice! I'd like to add a trainstation and cargotrain-station to make it more effective. this island askes for a ferry connection to the city, as well as to use the subway station.

Yeah

You actually need a seaport on the manmade island for viable logistics. Yes, landing strip is critical. When you do that in the middle no where in ocean obviously for naval airbase to guard certain sea lane for oil tankers, ocean marine flows in wartime.

I once built an airport on an island. I did like it, but your island airport is like 1000000% better looking and even more detailed. I like it!

This is so cool. I like your ideas. I haven't done this before. I think I would only do this if there was already a small island, and then terraform it to fit the airports. That way I would not have to worry about flooding my city too much. And I would have to make sure I had the appropriate pumping stations and tanks first.

I once did this by digging from hills and depositing into the sea. I didn’t think it would actually work but it did.

I gotta give you credit: You build unique ideas and build them well. I agree entirely with what Uusimaa said. You really would be a good mayor!

Amazing work. You should use Move It mod and select everything and export it. Then you can open the asset editor and use Move It mod to import it and save it as an asset and share it to the workshop.

Perfect and just in time! Was willing to make an airport in my no mods city!

Never built an airport on an island but I did make a huge 3 or 4 runway international airport (will have to double check again lol) using all vanilla assets including making use of various dlc assets aswell. Then I built a city around the airport lol.

He builds it on a island and still put a fence around it :D gotta love the extra security

reminds me of the Toronto airport , the one you see from the CN Tower only it doesnt have any bridges and its smaller, but it has trees and is on an island, and the runways are similar, at least 2 of them

One of my city (the best one yet though) its on a map with a lot of kinda big islands, and I was gonna make a huge bridge connecting two of the islands, but, as the bridge would be way too long, in the midle of the way I made a little artificial island dedicated to hold a airport! The result was very good, and because its mainly connected to a bridge, traffic goes smooth. :)

Damn this is amazing :) Me wanna build this to. The music really makes watching this so comfortable.

I haven't got any city to be able to have an airport but looking at that one I would have had another road off the island to make sure there was less congestion out of the terminal building. Nice idea for an airport though I must admit!

As an aviation fan, i really take serious about airport placements. Island, mountain, seashore even inside the residential areas is not different for me. I take account of the flight paths too, and mostly make all the airplanes fly above the city :D

This is a good concept because unfortunately cities skylines doesn’t focus on airport assets so making it with vanilla is hard. What I do is the same layout as you - you could even have another small airport or do SCHIPHOL mode and boss one at the corner and have a diagnol runway. Only problem is the road system, how would people from terminal 1 get to terminal 2 without having to go back on the highway. Another cool thing to do is use the asset lights and make a runway approach system trust me it looks quite decent. For people asking what the PARKS are used for well they’re for many things. Number 1, they attract more people into the airport system so it looks as if more people are going to the airport and are also parking at the airport. Number 2, they are used for parking, as they look similar.

It looks great and I like the shape but it needs parking, perhaps with a bus from a large parking area to the main terminal. Also while they add nice detail and fillers, runways are kept clear of shrubbery of any kind and trees would be much further out. Not just for collision reasons but mainly to do with the presence of birds.

I like the design but I like to put a few hotel of a small tourist area near the airport as some travellers may need to spent the night before catching the next flight. I also like putting some industrial buildings ( like 2x2 or 1x1 zoning if you don't use mods) to represent aircraft maintenance facilities and some parking might be missing but I think the layout is awesome

I love your work ... always disappointed when mods are used (I'm an avid PS4 CS player) ... but delighted when people 'tube without active use of construction aid mods .. thank you !!

This Airport reminds me of the Kansai International Airport in Osaka Japan, pretty good job :)

This is really awesome well done. But one piece of constructive criticism - one of the buildings is at the end of a runway (a fair distance away, but still at the end of a runway)...

Awesome island, though in a more realistic sense, there shouldn't be any shrubbery/trees in the airstrip pathway (in case of emergency landings, the area before and after the airstrip is cleared of trees) along with that one airstrip on the same axis as the cargo depot. But overall, awesome island none the less. Makes me want to get back into the game again...

That’s how Kansai Airport in Osaka was made. Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan had an entire runway built on top of reclaimed earth from a moutain.

Yuck not in real like it is nightmare fighting in and out of Dallas Fort Worth. Loves is so much better.

On PC I build two Airports (with mods). One similar to Hannover and the Other Similar to Hamburg Airport (both in Germany)

Reminds me of hong kong and parts of logan international in boston (mostly artificial with former islands within it)

Not a bad airport for vanilla game. But even vanilla airports should have much longer runways to make them look real at least 50-75% of real length.
