Internal Arts - 4 Energies (Peng, Lu, Ji, An) - MAD TALKS

(Italian and English Subtitles)
In traditional martial arts and the internal arts, people often talk about energies. The best way to understand the nature of these energies is certainly to experience them directly, but it is possible to explain some basic mechanisms without getting lost in vague esoteric theories.
This video is an extract from a long lecture on the 4 basic energies that we can find in Tai Ji Quan and other traditional Chinese systems.

With an incoming (off center ) force hitting above center, into emptiness........would it be considered as a "Lu" action?

An interesting explanation. I'm not completely comfortable with all of it but I can see how and why you have explained it in this manner, plus in a second language so well done for that. I'll think on this one. nice video regardless of my perspective. Regards.

Thank you for your appreciation. It is an introductory explanation that I think is useful for beginners not to get lost in overly fanciful theories. Of course the subject is much broader

In, my mind, An is a combinaison of Lu and Ji. (deviate to the bottom -or the top-, and press in a wave movement)

There is no real separation between the different Jin. At an early stage they are divided and distinguished didactically but once understood and assimilated they are always coexistent.

If you are reactive only, your Taiji will not be useful in a fight, if it is not useful as a martial art, it is not Taiji Quan, it is a dance. You will always be behind in time. Read the Yang and Chen style classics, try your push hands on a young, strong , none cooperative opponent.
