Not sure how to describe it, but I feel like I'm listening to a real natural guitarist who's completely open in showing what they know. Generous man ..

That a music man? 🔥🔥🔥
I've learnt so much here
Awesome
I like it. But there is a version by BJ The Chicago Kid that sounds more accurate. Seems like de last chord in the bridge should sound different. But I love what you’re doing by bringing us all these hits and memorable songs! Keep it up!!

exactly correct!!!!! the bass is 7-3-6 which is all Minor Chords but he chose to play a 4 instead of the 6 on 2 of the 3 passes..... the original song does NOT go to the 4 it goes to the Ab which is 6..... it sounds amazing when there is NO other musicians to play with but the 4 major would class over the 6. great ear for you to notice the difference.
Outstanding lesson. But what about “so don’t say goodbye say goodnight”? Such a sweet way to end. Seems a shame not to include.
man thxs for the tabs for this song iam a beginer so the tabs help alot i already bought your stuff from SoundCloud but you should have 10000000 subs now i think your the best for learning r&b and gospel if u could put tabs every time u make a song that would be dope

You could say it's 2 smooth.
Wicked.
the best
The Bridge Chords would sound close to the album as Bbm11 - Eb7 - Abm11 (note the Eb7#9 sounds good but is NOT what was recorded) if you play Eb7 as 1-3-b7-1 its not only easier to play, it matches the album and it transition into the Abm11 way better..... the Eb7#9 should be played in a different inversion without the 2 or 9 being on the top.... so the Eb7 transitions better from the Bbm11 way better because your fingers are already on the 11 of the Bb!
Can you do 'Don't Say' by Jon B
Thank you Kerry the techniques that you have been demonstrating have vastly improved my playing thank you ...
I'm familiar with the chords you're playing. My problem is getting the right hand picking technique right. Kerry do you have vids on right hand picking?
Hey Kerry what Amps would you recommend for this playing style ?
Hey Kerry how many chords in this song. Just wanna make sure I'm correct on this song. Thanks and keep doing what your doing for us peace.
Hey Kerry can you give us the rest of the chords to the song. Or was that just the bridge of the song only. Thanks much brotha great job again. P.S please keep em coming.
My ears 👂🏿 hearing same chords in Jaheim tryna find my way back

its in G# minor with a 2 5 1 progression (A#-11 D#7#9 G#-7) but Kerry calls the root as a Ab minor7. He has killer licks.

none of the replies are correct.... the key of the song is B major... period..... Just because it STARTS on the E does not mean its the key of E major. This is NOT Ab or G# which is the 6th of B..... they are confusing the relative minor with the major...... you can look at the song in B major or Ab minor but it would be more suited to follow the major then then minor. you can transpose the major to the minor but that makes no sense to do... the key is in B major. period. I challenge anyone to argue this.... the progression of the song is 4-3-2 for the main parts and 7-3-6 for the bridge.
I think you are an awesome guitar player... better than I will ever be.... however, the chords of this song is up for interpretation.... because the chords that you CHOOSE to use doe not MATCH the original song "Before I let you Go" by Blackstreet. the original version of he song. You chose to place a MAJOR 4 over the 6 which is minor.... we both know they can change from a minor or a major in many songs but in this song the Bridge progression does NOT change and you indicated.... you only go to the Ab which is the 6 on the third pass but the progression is 7-3-6 . I like the Bbm11 over the 7, then the Eb7#9 over the 3, but the Emaj7 which is the 4 or the key of B clashes with the 6.... when I play the correct bass on the bridge which is 7-3-6 your 4 classes with the 6.... in other words..... its minor-minor-minor but you are teaching minor-minor-major.... it might sound great buy yourself but might not work too well if the bass play the 6 (like the song) and you play the major 7 which is the 4 of B..... some times its hard to tell one note or chord from another but the 4 is not where you placed it.... its sounds AMAZING by itself but would class with the vocals and with the bass playing the minor 6 note and any other piano or guitar playing playing the minor 6. This does NOT take away from your lesson but I think its important when teaching a song to follow the ORIGINAL chord progression and save all the embellishing for the performance.....
