In this video, we are going to talk about interjections in Spanish. Interjections are words that you use for exclamation. They are words or noises you say or make to express feelings and emotions. They are unique to each language and even though they're not necessary when you learn a language, they will for sure get you closer to sounding like a native speaker.
The interjections we are going to look at in this video are...
Órale
Ushh
Ay
Huy/Uy
Ojalá
Yupi
Viva
Madre Mía
Where you able to guess the correct interjection for the sentences. Let us know in the comments below how you did. Also if you know any other interjections make sure to post them in the comments below as well.

Quite frankly these are some of the best Spanish learning videos of Everseen they're so fun and enjoyable and they're easy to understand
I´m from Germany and I have a friend from Colombia who is in Germany at the moment. She is here as an exchange student for about 6 months and she often uses "Ay!" and "Ushh!" to react to something. So far I always understand what she means but it was really interesting for me to learn the exact meaning of these expressions! I just discovered your channel and your videos are really helpful to learn Spanish!

¡Qué bueno! Sí. Son sonidos muy cortos pero que tienen mucho significado. Thank you for watching our channel!
Great!! These kinds of videos are the best- the types of things that are hard to learn from a textbook or app. You are so easy to understand and do such a great job explaining! ¡Gracias Maria!

Gracias a ti. What a sweet comment! We'll be exploring more topics like this while we're in Colombia. 🇨🇴 Look for those videos in the coming weeks!
My encanta "Me llamo Maria" Te amo. mucho.
Otra es "¡Híjole!", en México la usamos para expresar sorpresa o preocupación. Con un ejemplo del video, podría quedar: "Híjole, nos subieron el precio de la renta".

Mil gracias! Ayer, lo escuché y estaba tratando de buscarlo!
I hope you continue to get subscribers, I only discovered your channel yesterday and it's extremely useful. I don't know if you slow down or simplify your spoken Spanish but I actually understand. I've been studying Spanish for 5 months and my reading is intermediate, my writing isn't far off (I can hold fb chat conversions with my friends) but my listening is appalling!

well, you need to listen a lot but also try to say a lot. Like, interacting. That is what will actually help you improve your listening skill! A lot of people have commented about the slower Spanish, but I honestly believe it is because I enunciate more than most people (It could be a habit from teaching). That is how I normally speak though! Thank you for watching and subscribing! 🙂
¡Ay! ¡Qué linda la María! Ojalá que todo te salga bien y exitoso con el canal.
María, me encantaría verte y escuchar todo el día ... ¡Gracias por los videos!
esto es increíble, gracias María y Cody. Noto que algunos de estos sonidos salen de mi boca después de vivir un rato con hispanohablantes, pero es muy útil aprender las "palabras" y contextos específicos. Tan emocionada y agradecida encontrar tu canal hoy!!! hasta pronto...
your videos are very fun and helpful. Me gusta mucha los videos.
You’re really teaching something practical. Thanks!!!!
You and Cody are so much fun and are helping me so much. I minored in Spanish many years ago in college but haven't used it much. Hoping to finally get over my fear of speaking!
Que bello sonrisa Maria
Very good videos. Thanks a lot.
Looking forward to the Colombia videos!

Can u make a video discussing when to use ti
¡Excelente contenido!
Your videos help me much. Sus videos ayudame mucho.
I marathoned Narcos and now I understand a Columbian accent 10x better than my friends from Peru, whoops
algunas interjecciones usamos también aquí en filipinas.

es lástima que nuestra pais ya no hablemos español.
When to translate decepción, fully expecting it to be deception, which it did mean, but that was the second translation for the word. The first was Disappointment, and the 3rd was Let Down!! Meaning when a Spanish speaker hears that word they're more inclined to think of a let down than a deception, even though it means both. A lesson I'm sure to forget lol. But I have learnt over the years that although words may share a common route that their meanings may have shifted slightly, or even its an antiquated word. Which goes both ways. Spanish use plenty of Latin words which we can find in our dictionaries and are "exact" matches but have fallen out of modern day use in English and vice versa.
Some of the interjections are similar to french like " Ay" or "Youpi"
Hi Maria could I just compliment you on your excellent English. If I could speak Spanish half as well as you speak English I would be a happy bunny.
Ay, me duele. Estas pequenas palabras no es tan simple. Creo que voy a ver el video otra vez.
French kids also have a French "youpi", pronounced exactly as the Spanish "yupi" and with the exact same use, i.e. expected to be heard only from children to express that they are pleased with something
En España la gente se dice "¡vale!", lo tiene muchos sentidos diferentes. Es como, "okay" en inglés o decir estas de acuerdo con algo.
I use SpanishDict for word help and when I type a word that they don’t have, they say ¡aycaramba! What does this mean and when do you use it?
Jajaja! Qué maravilla tus videos!! Pero no e cierto que los adultos nunca dicen "yupi"! Tengo un amigo francé que lo dice mucho :) él tiene 65 años pero e niño en su corazón. Un abrazo de Escocia!!
Awesome video. Tu pronunciacion se parece al venezolano. ! Viva!
i got a smoothie called viva la vegan lol
Please do a video on how someone from the U.S. can integrate with a Colombian family. Southern manners mean nothing to my future in-laws. Help!!!
"ayyy no" Lo uso mucho y mis amigos latinos dicen "ay" para expresar mucho.
What about “¡Uffff! “? I hear that a lot from my Colombian friends...

I've heard a phrase that I phonetically spell as "Oyay!" I don't know how it's really spelled or what it means, but I hear Spanglish people use it at the beginning of their sentences, when they're angry. (ie "Oyay! Quit holding up the line!") I don't know if you know anything about it or not.
@WhyNotSpanish
7 жыл бұрын
Yeah! you mean "¡oye!" which is an instruction or order you give someone, and it literally means "hear" (It makes more sense as "listen!"). It would be the equivalent of "hey!" in English. You don't only use it when you are angry, but also in other situations where you want someone to pay attention to you. Great question! 💛

Hola raccoon, conoces el diccionario en línea, wordreference dot com? Tiene definiciones de muchas expresiones. Parece que, en Colombia, "de pronto" quiere decir "tal vez" o "quizá" (might, possibly). Check out wordreference; it's a great go-to resource!
Una pregunta, ¿Es necesario que la interjección "Ojalá"sea seguido por el subjuntivo o no? Por ejemplo, "Ojalá que venga" y no "Ojalá que viene" o ¿es que las dos frases son correctas?
@Hezulmen320
6 жыл бұрын
Clarence Hammer "ojala que venga" es la oracion correcta, ya que ese "venga" (de "que él venga") esta conjugado en una situacion hipotética, por lo mismo de que no ha pasado
@Hezulmen320

Y la otra oracion "ojala que viene" es incorrecta, ya que "viene esta conjugado en presente

Tengo una pregunta para el video. En el tiempre de 6:36 , tu dices "Nos subieron" pero la traducion dice "They increased". Basicalmente... estoy confunido lol [ PS feel free to correct any and all grammar mistakes :) ]
@mpero3

Hola Pope Karma, to understand the sentence, simply add the subject pronoun ellos: «Ellos nos subieron el precio de la renta». In this sentence, «nos» can be translated "on us." [They raised the rent on us.]
Ay caramba! 😂😆

I'm just 60 days into learning Spanish, so I only recognized a few words throughout, but one word really confused me. At 6:30 it said, _Nos subieron el precio de la renta_ and below it was translated into _(They increased the rent)_ I'm confused with the word Nos, as I thought it was for the word we, and Ellos or Ellas is for they.

Nos is the object pronoun (to whom it occurs - "US") and subieron is the conjugated verb (they increased). So it translates : They increased the rent (to us), or they increased our rent.

The direct translatios for nos subieron in english could be The rent price has increased to us....

When I was in Houston, I heard a Mexican-American say, "¡Újule!” In context, it seemed to mean something like "¡Órale!" but not quite the same, kind of like surprise with suspicion.. Has anybody heard this expression elsewhere?
@WhyNotSpanish
6 жыл бұрын
¡sí! I have heard it and even said it myself. I have used it to show surprise about something that was scary or unexpected. An example could be when I saw something (like a bird) passing by too close to my face. I didn't see it coming so I said "¡Újule" 😱 I hope it makes sense! 😂

is it word "me llamo" pronounced as "me jamo"or "me yamo" ??.....the sound is different fro the alphabets we study at the start for "ll" ..It was pronounced as "ya" instead of "ja" .

Both are correct, depending on which country or region the speaker is from. And I just learned that in parts of Argentina and Uruguay, the ll can be pronounced like sh in English!
