There's absolutely something that is conveyed when you have such a integrated sense of self. It comes across effortlessly and everywhere. During the tour the space might not be to everyone's preference but the desire to still BE in the space with RuPaul was unyielding. Rupaul's charisma is so effusive and ever present in the space. I aspire one day to be so sure of myself as to make my space unabashedly mine in this way.
I wouldn't expect anything else from Rupaul, I certainly envy his closet!
Secretly waiting to be invited over for a party here

We hope RuPaul sees this video. 😊
As a fellow orange enthuasised, this home makes me unbelievably happy and the first home tour EVER that has actually inspired me 😍
The fact that he had a pet peeve about a disco room made me laugh out loud. Yeah, those rooms are common 😀 love this channel!
this RuPaul's home.. you can tell it just feels like him. love it for him! martyn is good with over the top max design.
Love your analytical eye. And I agree whole-heartedly that while the overall disco/glam/high contrast isn't me, it feels absolutely true to the great RuPaul! And because it actually reflects his art, his taste, his history it is truly a home.
So very pleased that you just loved this. I was Floored by this home . The French architecture .The black and white and massive pops of color. It holds back and yet it is Out there puts a smile on my face. Thank you Daddy. And thank you RuPaul. Love from Ottawa

I was pleasantly surprised, although it’s not my personal taste I can appreciate the work that was put into it to make it their home
“...the black and white stripes are giving me Beetlejuice vibes...” and I’m here for it!!! Shake, shake, shake señora! Right on into my yard!
I LOVE the living room!! I try to get that effect but look like a hoarder!
RuPaul (I did not spell right) at a gallery opening in the 80's. We are the exact same age and this makes me wistful for those years (and for several lovely people no longer with us from that time). Cheers. NUGGET: My one fave NYC experience is Summer (1979?) randomly wearing a red dress, and my 3 friends also wore red, and the bouncer at Studio 54 spotted us (we were quite average sorta cute 21 year olds not model material my any means) and yelled: "YOU! Girls In The Red Dresses.... You're IN" .. and there we were! ; ) kzread.info/dash/bejne/g5tnwdijf5rWXZc.html
'High contrast black and white is not for me' while having a black and white walls. 😂😅 I hope you get the joke.
Imagine what a great host he’d be!!! RuPaul 🔊 your boy style daddy wants to come learn how to disco dance 🕺
Omfg.... that drag closet is a f...ng museum!!!!!! Design aside... any historian would be fascinated by stepping in!!!!! It'll be awesome that some of the collection could hit public installation
I saw the AD tour and wish I could have seen the entire house😱

Right? I feel like there are so many parts we didn’t get to see in the tour!
I love the kitchen and the bar stools. I knew his home would be colorful, just like him. He is a good soul. I love the way each room flows into the next and I love the eccentric vibe of it all. For some reason it is actually what I pictured it would be like in my head, lively, colorful, and beyond bold. Love.
absolutely love everything about his home. Its stylish, comfy looking and NOT sterile with alot of wasted space
I love your channel as well as your critical commentary on interior design. The fact that you are also handsome as can be and built like a million bucks adds to your appeal. I'm totally in love with you!
Rupauls house is so true to himself. I love this!
I want ‘I have a disco room’ wealth 😅
This house….😍😍😍 I’m a closet maximalist so anyone who does max that is this amazing…chef’s kiss. But Rupaul is amazing sooooooo ❤
That Beatle juice celling was too much,, felt like a big top in a circus 🎪 black and white contrast is great in small amounts but this was overkill. 😵💫
I love his home and him. He makes me happy every time I see him. Such a unique person, a beautiful soul. ❤
Absolutely agree, this one is the best evah. It is so RuPaul, so much character.
I love that every room has and tells a story!
This is one of the few AD tours that I actually like. Yes, it is all Rue Paul and well thought out. The kitchen is chaotic, and most bothersome is the exhaust fan. What a thing to make a focal point, do not like that. I like the tent room, but wish they had gone the extra step to ombre the peak from dark in the center to high contrast on the stripped walls. Orange is a hard color to work with, I imagine, but the office is beautiful. I completely agree with everything else you said Daddy. BTW, I met Rue Paul a couple of times in Atlanta, we were introduced. I was so young and didn't know much about drag queens, and he was in full drag. I have to say that both times, he was really nice and pleasant, we had a short conversation both times, he IS friendly and genuine. That wasn't what I expected. To Rue Paul, pull back on the details in the kitchen and get rid of that range hood, for a small black one. Make them blend the colors in the tent room in the center, then go to the high contrast toward the floor. That would give you a full "trumpe l'oeil", (fool the eye) look.

I agree, the tent room should have been painted by a talented trompe-l'oeil artist. Easy to change it.
Great video! I really love your insights and feel like I learn a lot from your commentary.

That means so much! I’m so happy to be able to share my design education with everyone ❤
i watched the AD video when it came out, and i loved every bit of it. i couldn't afford to buy even one sequin on one of his shoes, so his style definitely isn't mine, but it's still just fabulous. You did a great analysis of the different details in the rooms, and even though i would happily live in any one of those rooms, i agree that some of it is a bit much. Suggestions for other celebs: George and Amal Clooney's English manor would be a dream to see.

I just totally love this home!
I love RuPaul’s home! It’s so fun, I just love it!!!
Amazing to see someone else who likes black, white and orange with silver tones (I haven't noticed much gold finishes)
perfect we are waiting for next react😍
I love his house!
SO much fun! I hope I can find it. There are some lovely very early videos of a young Rupaul in NYC. Hope I can find! 1/2
Good one!!!
This is a wonderful fun house
I had seen this video awhile back. It was refreshing to get your perspective..😮😊

Your opening edit of Ru is making him look CRAZY! 🤣. The 'Drag Closet' looks like it belongs in the V&A or National History Museum exhibition of ICONS....amazing!. But I don't wanna lose any cat hair...but hate the kitchen!
Totally RuPaul, and although not my style that is irrelevant because this house reflects him 100% as all homes should do just that, 100% ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐review Please my fave star Jack Gyllenhaal ❤❤❤❤❤
I fully agree... I believe this is an authentic and enthusiast style and design choice, however, I could not inhabit these spaces in their holistic representation; that said, there are some truly gorgeous pieces and wonderful design elements overall.
😂😂😂 THE LAUGH

Yes, please review other celebrities homes. I love looking at the colors and styles to get inspiration. I also love orange but it can be tricky. Thank you.

What I saw in every of those home-tour videos: Stars and celebrities have a beautiful kitchen and say they cook themselves, but honestly I think they leave that more to their staff or cook!!!! Many of those celebrities/stars live in another dimension and know nothing about real life!!! They live with their heads in the clouds. Though there are, I'm sure, exceptions!!! I won't name names but some have more money than common sense and/or a heart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I find it real sad and wanna cry out: "come back down to earth!!!" BTW: The only house with REAL personality was Rupaul's!!! I LOVED IT!!!!!! XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Pinkie
Mega obsessed with your glasses, what are they? Brand??? Please 🙏
Please do Trixie Mattel's motel or house next
I am interested in what you have said about finding your color. I agree that RuPaul has used orange well in the design, and I like it, but, most people overdo and I am not sure that works without some foundation of style. Using a favorite color is good when it invites, but, it's use can also detract and be jarring. Where do we draw that line?

I wonder if it's possible to take a photo of the room(s) in question and use CGI to illustrate what you're planning? If so, ask a friend if they think it's too much, if they hesitate then the answer is yes! Otherwise, you're going to have to trust your instincts.
Oh my gosh ❤❤❤❤❤
You have no idea how important ladder is in the kitchen... I am 154cm high... Thats 5.05ft.... :D I live in central Europe and our homes are definetly on diferent scales. We go up high with storage. No other option. We do not have space. Like generaly we do not have space for houses. Land is full..
Ahem - your set there is black and white ! x
Your commentary is balanced and fair. I appreciate your reasoning, your emotional response and your humour (even your self-deprecation - I doubt you have a "fat ass"). Rupaul would benefit from your input!

That means so much thank you 🙏🏼 gotta have a sense of humor! Life’s too serious otherwise
Having to choose between RuPaul house or Kim Kardashian, I would definitely choose RuPaul. There is so much personality in here!
at least his house reflects his personality... love it, nothing fake here ...not like Kim Kardashian house
I will call this....the psychedelic house 😂
Well, I suppose those who like a Halloween Munsters-meet-glam motif would like this house. Not my cup of hemlock, though.
Horrors house.
What's with referring to Ru with "they" pronouns? He's a gay man
@mrphoenixgrey

As far as I’m aware they refer to themselves depending on what persona they are in; I kept it neutral as I was unsure of which they prefer.

@@mrphoenixgrey yeah I get that drag queens use 'she/her' while in drag but he wasn't in drag I think you're overthinking it It isn't a huge issue, just weird to hear someone being referred to as "they" when they are presenting as a man

@@mrphoenixgreythis whole time I thought you were referring to Ru and his husband lol "they them" as a pronoun is too confusing, we need to just make up a new word for people in the middle.
the only thing shocking was that this turned out to be hella vanilla
