A young couple with another baby on the way needed more space, so designer Jodie Rosen helped renovate their home with a new addition. See how she created a cohesive look in the open-concept main floor with white walls, modern finishes and colorful accessories.
A graphic, modern stairway welcomes guests into the home. Jodie kept all the walls white so the furniture, rugs and decor stand out. The modern kitchen features a waterfall island and a large peninsula that divides it from the living room. A pantry and panelled fridge on either side of the range adds symmetry, while a black frame around the area provides contrast. The sunken back family room is designed to feel more intimate and laid-back without compromising style. A brick veneer wall adds texture and is accented by floating shelves and a low cabinet for extra storage. While the envelope of the home is fairly monochromatic, Jodie injected personality and major wow-factor into the powder room with a bold and colorful wallpaper.

The best part of this house is definately the focal point in the kitchen! The black paint turns the kitchen like a frame, exclusive n brillint idea 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻

Gosh, the stairs banister angles out to a point and the kids would run right into it.

Sandra Sutton -parents watching this video begin itching to wrap that angled banister railing with unstylish foam. It’s worth the fashion sacrifice - to avoid forehead stitches. 🤕

In love with the kitchen. And that wallpaper is cheery and fun. It acts as a balance to the black and white rest of the living space IMHO

I LOVE that black band around the stove area in the kitchen, what a unique idea, I've never seen that before. But I ADORE THAT BATHROOM, OMG! Such crazy color, I love it! I might tone it down some, perhaps only accent *_one_* wall but it's so cute and playful, literally one of my favorite rooms ever!

The lamps really help to balance all the lines and angles.
I loved the kitchen and I adored the staircase railing. I even liked the bathroom with shocking wallpaper. I wish the impact of the livingroom was similar. It was ok, but it was more in the blah spectrum.

The homeowners have to be very accepting. I would have painted over that knockout bathroom wallpaper one day after testing it to a mono- neutral color.

everything is done perfectly except the bathroom the colors are beautiful and interesting but i think it the wall paper was on one wall and the rest will be white then it would be less harsh. EDIT: and it will give it a bit of definition.
I think a espresso color floor wood look good with that home I like white but light grey looks Awsome to great job

especially since there are kids... I don't like this designer. She doesn't care for the humans living in the house, only wants this to be her personal showpiece.

The lower cabinets below the TV seems like not a baby friendly option to have all of them tilt down. Especially if some of them are used to keep electronics.

I love everything except the balusters of the stairs. Those are some pointed angles! One wrong grip or move and you’ll stab your hand or any part of your body! And that colorful wallpaper was a love it or hate it decision. I don’t like it. LOL
Beautiful home however, I really dislike the bathroom wallpaper! I don't like anything about the wallpaper also it doesn't fit with the aesthetic of the house.
