I've been mixing the knowledge that I got watching your videos with my "intern career" that finished one year ago. Now, as a 3D artist, making scenes is one of my basic steps to begin a modeling, cause they help me to choose how to apply these techniques. If I need to choose the color pallete, I follow the 60-30-10 rule in different ways to each environment. I think this technique connects the entire home through the color / textures and create a unity to each ambient.

Used to ensure my curtains, lampshades, sofa fabric and cushion covers are all from the same fabric! Now, i 've gravitated towards variety, so long as there is some common elements. Great video as always

neelu bushy ~ A general rule for many designers is the "Seven Layers of Decorating" rule: Layer 1: (Walls and Ceilings) Layer 2: (Flooring) Layer 3: (Upholstery) ~ furniture Layer 4: (Accent Fabrics) Layer 5: (Case Goods) ~ this refers to bookshelves, side tables, cabinets, etc. Layer 6: (Wall Art and Accessories) Layer 7: (Plants and Lighting) You start with walls and ceilings first, then flooring, then upholstery, etc. Hope that helps.

Hi Zahira thanks for all the beautiful inspirations in all your videos. I have request could you please do a video about timeless styles/ how to furnish your house in timeless look that won’t age or look outdated in few years. Personally I am a keeper and it’s gonna be hard after I chose every piece of furniture carefully to change in few years. How can i make sure that my home is timeless. (In truth, these are competitive, "I did it better" bravado, videos.) What I love about your work channel is how you explain fundamentals & design principles with clarity & careful selection of words. Hi Zahira - I am in the process of buying my first house and your videos and guides are a massive help and inspiration to my planning so thank you SO much ❤ Please would you consider making a video on designing beautiful inclusive/disability friendly homes? In particular for me, I have found there are barely any resources on identifying a colour palette that is not just functional but aesthetically pleasing for both colourblind and non colourblind dwellers - no one seems to discuss colourblind friendly home design at all. It is a difficult topic to cover but would be amazing to see your ideas on this :)
