Cynthia I loved this video! Thank you! I’m actually doing my assignment right now where I need to design several mood boards. I’ve delayed forever just fretting over the software. I’m working on PowerPoint right now. I need to learn photoshop. Hope you’re feeling well, you look great! Thanks again!

This was lovely! Thanks for the industry insights- it is very valuable as there is a lot of noise out there and I'm just starting out! It was good to see how important mood boards are, because I find them so enjoyable and that makes me think, wait is it still professional or not but it is essential!! Wooo.. the next question is what are the best ways for visually presenting the desired result of the design (3D model, Render, sample and material boards?)

What's the standard size of mood board?

Hi Andrea! Yay, so glad you've found this useful 🥰 As far as the size goes there isn't a standard as such. You basically set the size yourself (or your employer). Sometimes they are just digital, sometimes large A1 prints.. really depends. So yeah it all starts with mood boards and research. Then we move on to design detail where basically everything gets a lot more thorough attention. One of my earliest videos on - how to manage your design projects- touches on this so feel free to check that out 👍 But that's a good idea for a follow up video so I'll add this idea to my list 😊 I'm a big fan of Sketchup for 3d visualisation. Easy to use and very effective for visualising your ideas. I've created a course for this so let me know if you want some more info on that 😊

Hi, thanks for your video. I have been including selected items and pricing in my mood board. If you don't do this, how do you then present selected items? Thanks

This would usually be shown in a furniture schedule and project cost plan which follows after the mood boards and visuals have been reviewed 👍hope this helps!

Thanks for share. I used Adobe in industry but being self employed now, it's expensive. I discovered Affinity Publisher and Affinity Photo. One off £50 fee each and I have to say, being a complete idol of Adobe, Affinity is pretty damn good in comparison and obviously not another subscription fee. I already have to pay for so many including outlook and sketchup. Also, I use Autocad Lite which is a 3rd of the yearly cost of full Autocad but does all the 2d as usual. Love the outtakes btw, reminded me of the barbie doll at the end of Toystory 1 movie (I'm sure it was 1). If you haven't seen it, search it in KZread.

That's a good shout, thanks for sharing 👍 Will have to check it out as Adobe has just become the go to and like you said it's used widely in the industry. Haha, tbh the stuff that happens between the lines that make through to the final video is not glamorous at all 🤣 but it's all a part of the process and we can have a laugh about it 😁
