I would also recommend a pair of lineman's pliers, a good chalk line, cats paw or small pry bar, a bit set, 2 and 6 inch magnetic bit holder and other tools that can make your gob easier as well as more productive. I do peace work so we also have are own sds hammer drills, grinder, drill and circular saws but normally companies provide those in the union. Great vid any new apprentice would be well equipped with your list great video.

Hey James! I prefer the Wallboard knife the blade sticks out further than all other knives I've used, and the Milwaukee c clamps are nice too. Also a circle cutter. That hammer will get hung up on hammer loops with that extra tooth.

If I ever got back into drywall again, I'd try a cordless screw gun. I wouldn't recommend an adjustable t square, I had one once and it wasn't square. Great video ✌.

It would be cool if you could ever make a video in Japan or China to see how they build interior systems over there.

Great video man. Going through a month long interior systems class now with the union. Content like this really helps us new people to see all the different options available to us. A few tool additions I'd make that might help is a chalk line and a drywall hole cutter.

Dam a chalk line... I knew I was forgetting something. The keyhole saw is in there but I missed the line.

@@NomadicINK One other question I have. I use a husky flip knife instead of a fixed blade knife. Why is there a preference of a fixed blade knife among hangers? I've personally felt no difference between the two, except that mine is safer and easier to change blades on. I really don't like fixed blades.

@@somethingorother319 when you start ripping a ton of sheets, the fixed blade is more durable and easier to grab on to. You can learn to cut with any knife but there’s a reason why drywallers use the tools they do.

What’s up Showers, do u condition your leather tool bags. I’ve been drywalling and some other trades for ten plus years and use most of the tools on your list but, I honestly use a super cheap bag. Just curious. Drywall is hell on leather since it drys it out so bad. Thanks bud. Love the boot reviews

Hey, have you seen these? I've wondered about them. They are intended for welding, but I paint, repair drywall, etc. I'm a grounds/maintenance tech. Not as much concerned with drywall on the boots as paint, salt, chlorine, paint, solvents, paint.

Rasp = layoff tool. Always carry a jab saw in conjunction with a router. Stanley fat Max or power lock. Stanley 199 knife Armor clamps. Fuck a plumb bob. If u have a laser I guess u could carry a hatchet and a hammer. But if ur working with a partner use the opposite of what they are Also, Ditch one bag on ur belt u don’t need both

Oh I forgot. If ur just sheetrocking use ur hatchet instead of a kicker. And if ur framing and rocking use a flat bar instead

Just go to your closest local union hall and talk to a rep. That's what I did. I don't know what region you're in, but they should have metal framing or interior system classes on offer aswell once you join up.

If it gets to difficult to join the carpenters union I would recommend learning the HVAC Trade for a career or plumbing Those guys make $100 -$150 an hour if it's your own business or you can work for a company.... anyways those guys stay busy and always usually have work.
