Those kitchen sponges look like they contain metal yet you can hold them together, despite metal being the thing that can apparently transfer one to the other.

So excited for a new video! It’s interesting to see the variance from one kosher kitchen to another. I didn’t know about the method for a single sink or microwave, or about the shmitah bin. Great to learn, thank you!

Great video, thank you! On an unrelated topic, please do you have a video about how you tie your tichel (headscarf)? I'm getting married soon so I'm experimenting with head coverings, and I love the style of yours :)

Very interested to know if there are more videos and little tidbits on Shemitah on your channel, I've never really known much of what's done with it living in North America, Do Rabbis have any rabbinical institutions for remembering these in the Diaspora?

Dang, This is what my ancestresses had to go thru before converting to Christianity? It would also explain why my parents' kitchen had alot of pots and pans. Old family habits go down the generations.

How do Orthodox Jews travel in countries where kosher food is less prevalent? Do they plan ahead where they can find kosher stores and restaurants? Do they bring their own food, or do they make do with vegetables and fruit?

This is a great question. Obviously, it depends on the country but typically Orthodox Jews do have to plan ahead before heading for a vacation. There are a number of Kosher finder websites and apps for restaurants that people use, people will also frequently get in touch with the local Chabad House in communities with smaller Orthodox populations to plan their meals. Traveling as an Orthodox Jew becomes even more complicated on shabbat, as there are many more factors to consider aside from just kashrut regarding shabbat observance since one cannot travel by car, turn on lights in hotel rooms, etc. Another frequent travel complication is finding 'minyanim'(a group of 10 jewish men to come together in prayer for daily services), for men who are careful to say their prayers in these groups daily. Minyanim is another area where the local Chabad House and local Orthodox communities tend to come in handy, there are also various websites and applications designed to help find minyanim. Even though it is complicated there are a lot of resources all over the world available to Orthodox Jews while traveling since there ultimately are Jewish communities frequently in even the most unlikely places. A great deal of gratitude in my opinion needs to be expressed to Chabad Shluchim who run centers all over the world, which although their main goal is not directly to service the Orthodox community on vacations ultimately take on this extra job as well. It is also worth mentioning that because of all these complications with travel there is a whole industry of vacation programs designed for Orthodox Jews to travel together at various times of the year(mid-winter break-the break typically given by Orthodox schools as a replacement for the public school christmas break, Passover, Sukkot, etc) with amenities like kosher catering, daily minyanim in hotels, etc. Hope this answers your question well. --Amalya
