Please enlighten me - how are mortgage holders keeping the economy afloat? Mortgage holders have borrowed money to purchase a property and interest is payable on those borrowed sums...

@@LA-fr7fx /s means sarcasm mate.
When they go up they go up. And when they go down they don’t really.

Money was too cheap, which causes inflation. Throw in QE and interest rates were always going up up up...
I'm struggling to survive, but I am comforted knowing that billionaire Ritchie Sunak and his privileged government are all keeping toasty warm and eating well.
Higher, higher...we want higher interest rates. Never cut!

Indeed - inflation makes us all poorer and erodes wealth and savings.

So….carry on, nothing to see here 🙄
It depends on how the Fed sings, the other central bank decission does not really matter for the markets.
Load up on your investments before they do come down. I’d rather it stay up for longer and catch more mortgage renewals.
FTSE liked it👍
The rates were about 15% for 20 yrs an we was in a great place back then , then they fell to nearly o% for 17yrs. Its only been 3yrs an have peaked about 6months ago an the government wont raise it just to bring it down again i bet we got 5 to 10 yrs or more if it ever comes down with the way the country is run, no tax on earnings over 150k an no tax on bank bonuses, 500,000.000 to france waste of money, an nearly 300,000.000 to Rwandan building new housing estates that are being sold to Rwandan s by the Rwandan government ect ect ect wtf now the plane thats ready to fly isn't cos they dont know what airline will take them after the 5 star hotels our government will probably send them business class as well as the 3k spending money ffs

They printed money and it ended up with super rich. Trains in India are more cosy than central line. AND guess what, they will upgrade it in 2029
