How is the front grill area held on? Would have liked to see how you took it of.

Just push in clips. If you start at one side near the head light and gently pry it away, the clips give way one at a time. Be gentle and the clips can be reused.

@@KianJorry Nice. I'm not sure I noticed a heap of power difference but I'm sure my economy has improved with the new IC.

Awesome work mate !! I've been thinking about upgrading the intercooler on my 2020 Colorado as it suffers from excessively high intake temps/heat soak. How do you rate the intercooler ? Is there much of an improvement in fuel economy & drivability compared to the stock intercooler ?

I noticed the temp gauge went up a little with less air flow across the rad but nothing drastic. Had the car re-tuned and slight gains in power and torque (about 7kW and 30Nm). I would make sure you get a proper manufactured piping kit or have someone make one for you. I initially used a lot of silicon pre-made bends and straight pipe and had regular issues with leaks.

Hi Matt, was the work, plus price worth it. Would you recommend doing this upgrade? Nice good videos, please keep them coming. 👍

To be honest it is hard to say. I had the car tuned already and then returned after the IC upgrade. No increase in power with a slight increase in torque. Really the increase could be down to the tech who tuned the car. Would I recommend it... If you are handy and can do it yourself then sure as the only cost was the IC (found a cheap one for under $200) and the silicon elbows and pipework (maybe around $200). Obviously you would then need to get it tuned to take advantage of the upgrade... That's where the cost is.

Before intercooler upgrade: 153kW 523Nm, After upgrade: 152kW 536Nm. Not much difference really but wanted to get it checked to make sure it was still running well.

I have noticed that the economy has improved from 9.9lt/100km (best over 500km since new) to 9.1lt/100km.

@@kanesharkey1517 Yea, its bloody annoying. I had to get bits and pieces from a few different places as I didn't need the whole kit that a lot of people are selling. In the end I actually kept the OEM hose off the turbo and then went up from 2"-2.5" for a bit and then into 3" for the cooler.

I will be getting her re-tuned so will see how that goes. Out of the box not really although I know the inlet temps are going to be lower. Really need to tune it to take full advantage though.
