Dear Sikander , thanks for the excellent explanation. Could you please clarify that while following the second method (no switchport method) and third method (assigning fa0/20 to vlan) do we have to keep the original configuration of ip address in int vlan 10 and int vlan 20 intact or do we have to delet the int vlan interfaces ?

Sachin Kumar Parolia We can keep it, because every vlan interface act as its own, and it’s virtual, fa0/20 it is a physical interface on its own.

VLAN divides a single broadcast domain into multiple broadcat domain. Devices in different VLAN cannot communicate with each other by default (possible using inter VLAN) Then what is the purpose of making VLAN (devices in diff VLAN will not communicate)and again doing inter VLAN to communicate with all devices in diff VLANs
