Bro contradicting your whole statement. If you have watched Barcelona during Pep era, Messi wasn't the one who would press much he was solely the number 9 whose major role was to create and score goals. He wasn't a goal poacher like Ronaldo. He used to find spaces just like a midfielder. He would scan the whole opposition players and that's why he used to run less. It's always been his role. I know with all his less pressing and not running in the whole 90 mins causes anger but all the players and coacher have all realised that he is midfielder type of player who would create spaces for others.

But now they have old Kryvtsov and now they have Sailor too, and they're both very mediocre defenders right now. Yedlin was good in his position but now he is in Cinicinnati. Miami must buy a new defender like a center back.

Absolutely rights, Miami defending was so bad to compete with the title contender. If Messi was healthy then Miami attacker was just fine to score a goal but when the defender concede goal in almost every match it's hard to win.

A complete replacement of defence is not possible in the current situation, so put a strong defender, & include more in midfield change the formation accordingly & get the ball possession game. I’m 48, I’ve been watching football ever since I can remember myself, I NEVER understood how can a team concede a goal in the 87th minute on a COUNTER-attack while being 2-1 UP, and I will NEVER understand it… Maybe on amateur level I can… accept it, but from professionals who are supposed to eat, breathe and sleep football, sorry, but no. That’s the type of mistake that for me deserves a hefty fine. I include the coaching staff as well in the... group of culpable ones.

One good news for Miami is that Negri played his first game in a year and looked just as good as before, even providing one of his typical assists on Messi's goal. He was easily their best defender (and one of the best left backs in MLS) before going down injured. Of course now they have Jordi Alba as the starter in that position, but at least they can now rest Alba when necessary and not lose too much quality down the left.
