I live just south of you in Jefferson county, and we had a supercell thunderstorm heading our way. We got marble size hail and 50-60 mph winds. I heard there were tornadoes in Illinois later that night.

something similar happened to us in Vegas a couple of years ago. but instead it was just thunder over over overand over for like 2-4 hrs straight. it was nice lol

I always loved recording thunderstorms, its so epic to catch the lightning bolts too. I caught 4 bolts with my phone last year in July :3

It's weird. We get some of the worst storms in winter here in SC. They're few and far between, but winter thunderstorms here usually end up producing tornadoes. Our tornado season is pretty much November thru April. We had a NASTY tornado outbreak in February 2020. My location alone was in 4 tornado warnings. The furthest one was 1 mile away. The closest one was about 150 feet away. Luckily the strongest one was only an EF1 or weak EF2. Only damage was from a giant oak tree being ripped out of the ground onto a shed and fence......and ripped out our peach tree.

We were in one Last year we had 1 inch hail and winter percip all at the same time with some thundersnow and lightning(:

what happens if a tornado comes in the middle of the night? do the towns sirens wake people up? or do you sleep in the basement if theres a media warning?? how would u see it coming?

A couple weeks ago there was a severe thunderstorm warning for our county in north Carolina it was terrible I couldn't sleep it was a Monday night when it happened

It takes awhile for any type of thunderstorms to get going.

im surprised that there was that much lightning...usually when there is then the storm cell is warm, and thats kinda weird when it was january when this happened
