I can't believe people are still swimming even with all those bolts of lightning. Probably the LAST place I would be in that kind of weather.

Something worth mentioning I never once heard thunder which means it's probably far enough to increase the odds of being alright Floridians really are unafraid of lightning! Up here in western Washington, one single lightning strike In some random spot makes the evening news!

Which videocamera you had use during this thunderstorm? And can you film in HD with a distance thunderstorms (lightning and luminous clouds) in HD with this camera , especialy and also in lowlight? I want to buy a very HD camera, but for a maximum budget of € 550 euro's. I hope you can help me a little bit, which camera this is or what you advince me for filming thunderstorms by day and night? My first advice was the Panasonic HC V770. I don't know if this is the same camera? Hoping for some advice and info about this camera that was used here. Thanks in advance.

Fabulous! I have been a fan and a subscriber of yours for a long time and this video is favorited, and shared. You did a great job. Couple of questions: Was this associated with one of the tropical depressions or is it just a regular storm? What was the story with the drums? Concert, party, lightning worshippers? Thank you so much from your Utah fan - we haven't had lightning like that in years and years. I must live vicariously through your video!

I'm not the person who owns this channel, but I can answer regarding the weather (I've lived in Florida for almost 40 years). This was (almost certainly) just a regular storm - but just a bit more lightning than usual. We get probably 5-10 storms with lightning shows like this (or much better) every summer. The storms form over land and then move out over the gulf (sometimes form just inshore of the beach and then move inland and out over the Atlantic Ocean, but that's the inverse of the normal pattern). A tropical storm usually has less lightning associated with it, even in the thunderstorms - more rain than the usual. Just this summer, we've had at least one storm that makes this look a bit pale and slow... lightning almost continuous for over an hour (I walked out to watch it). I remember one bad storm in the 80s where the lightning was continuous for hours - and my folks said that the cloud glowed an eerie blue for part of that time. As I remember, it made the news. Back in the 60s and 70s (and into the 80s), you could set your watch by the weather during the summertime. In Bartow (in the center of the state), the first raindrops would hit the pavement always about 10 to 12 minutes before 5. If things changed, it usually meant a tropical system (depression or storm) was in the area. That changed in the mid 80s... now it's not very predictable.

One thumb up for the lightning. One thumb down due to the lack of thunderclaps. Please leave the thunder in. We're only getting half the experience. It's like watching fireworks without the explosion sounds.

In Florida, the norm is storms forming near the center of the state and then moving west out over the gulf in the evening (and going out over the water after dark). Often you'll have a storm to the east and clear skies to the west along the coast when the sun is going down. I've been fishing at the skyway bridge and had a storm on one side and beautiful sunset on the other. One time, that storm had a bad tornado that did a lot of damage across Tampa bay from where we were before it dissipated - and a pretty sunset.

The lightning was probably at a very far distance (what people call ''heat lightning'') far enough for the thunder to be heard, if thunder can't be heard then that means the lightning strikes are too far away and cannot reach you or strike you

This would be stunning, but all of the writing all over the screen makes it impossible. Take out the top line, or get rid of those on the bottom. Stop worrying about others copying and let people enjoy your work.
