I rather use iris scan because I just lower my glasses for a second and it works. And face id doesn't work with masks.

Because you wouldn’t be able to see any notifications. They can add a switch to change it, though, if you don’t want to swipe, but not completely remove it.

my s8 brightness turns up but when it does it unlocks instantly

Quick fix for samsung with the sunglasses. I selected the option of having glasses on when I first set it up and it works when I have my Ray Bands on, the the Ray Bands are polarized and tinted and has all the fancy darkness on it and it works 100% fine. I'm using a Note 9 though. I know the note 9 got released months after the S9 plus, so maybe it's a more advanced system ? Idk ? but all I can say is it works for me with big sunglasses on and with hats on too. I also got it work with my electrical hard hat and arc helmet on !!! So idk something minor has to be tweaked or something.

@@betitocanzion it's called FACE ID. Not EYE ID. Iris is a part of eye. come on. And face id won't work if you wear a mask because it covers your face. While iris scanner won't work if you wear a sun glasses because it covers your eyes.

Of course the Iphone wouldn't need to brighten up the screen as it's using the infrared technology. The S9 is using the IRIS scanner, it doesn't make any sense using it with a sunglass on! I don't see people using a fingerprint scanner wearing a glove! Come on common sense!

Home Blogs of course it should unlock with sunglasses, wigs or a globe, because this is the only "modern" unlock system available in this phone, and it's nice that Apple is pushing towards a new feature that might represent the future, this pushes the market and in the end the costumer wins. But I don't see why people make such a fuss about that, like this for itself would improve so much the final experience with the phone. This is not a revolutionary thing, it's just a new unlock system which turns out to be better then the other options available. I have an iPad pro and a Samsung phone, and my phone has productivity functions that the iPhone cannot offer, that's why I kept on Samsung for my phone, and this is not because a slightly better photo or keeping 2 or 3 apps more open or more vivid screen, I buy it because of functionalities that really make difference in my daily usage.

Intelligent scan IS NOT a combination of Iris Scanning and Facial recognition. You may notice that the IR blaster did NOT Turn on. When It’s low light and the 2D facial scanning is having an issue detecting your face THEN it uses the IR blaster. Hence why you cannot use Intelligent Scan for Samsung Pay!

So on the S9 can you have the intelligent scan, iris scan, and fingerprint scan all active at the same time? Example would be if I like intelligent scan but I decide to use my fingerprint as I pull it out of my pocket. Do I have to change a setting or does it recognize what I am trying to do? If I normally use intelligent scan but decide to use Samsung Pay does it revert to the fingerprint scanner or does it go straight to the PIN?

1+ uses a 100 point authentication system for FaceUnlock. iPhone uses a 10,000 point system for FaceID. So they’re not quite in the same league really. Speed compromises security.
