Well as long as you allow competition to rule in the economy instead of cooperation, then you'll need to put patent laws in practice.... But when one day ppl come to their senses/grow a heart and realize that competition in the economy is unfair for babies, old folks, the disabled etc. they'll look back and wonder how they could've been so stupid for so long. The professor do not familiars to the patents in the telecommunication field. Basically, the patents belong to several big manufactures. each one has only 10%- 20% of the total patents. So, they make a deal called "Patent cross-licensing "
