in low-economy countries, almost all customers just want an under 100 USD gaming gpu like RX 580 8gb. Why is there no company satisfying that market?

I imagine that for the big dogs the logic is that the second hand market will eventually fill it without them needing to devote any R&D to bringing an up-to-date product out in that segment. Real scumbag move, but could be a cost-saver

Because they make less money because there is less margins . They don't care about consumers . Only shareholders Same reason why car companies only want to sell cars for 40-80k now instead of making some models for 20-30k

Companies simply just discount their previous gen lower end cards to that or near that price level, it'll get you much more performance to buy an old gen gpu on discount that buying a new one at that price. The reason why almost always people get previous gen or used instead of buying Nvidia's xx50 cards, they even stopped making them for that reason

Long gone are the days when we had 4 graphics manufacturers (S3/ATI/3DFX/Nvidia) competing against each other. Intel really needs to be that third player to apply pressure to Nvidia and AMD.

I've been saying a Intel has been steering for a better direction. Just consider that the previous management before Pat Gelsinger was called Titanic. So... yeah... it's impossible to save a ship overnight. But where are the funny inefficient memes of Intel now? This year is the pivotal point for Intel. AMD will be fine, all I am saying too many Intel hatters and reality gets extremely distorted. Keep it real!

The EU legislation about battery is clear: you have to be able to change it with simple tools usually available at home. If you need anything more sophisticated than a simple screwdriver, Apple break the law!

I’m still super hopeful that Battlemage comes out swinging (casting?). IGPUs are sexy, but Intel bringing the guns (spells?) on a GPU is sexier.

If lunar lake lives up to expectations it could be the way to go for mobile (laptop) CPUs/APUs. AMD is waiting too long with RDNA 4 and they are losing their lead. AMD is still king for desktop though

The iGPU is a toned down version of the same architecture coming to their discrete battlemage graphics cards.

Tbh Intel has some of the best budget GPUs, arc a580 beats just about everything else at the price (except for the sale I saw on Amazon for a 6650xt for 170)

Not to mention, Amazon has had their Luna gaming streaming service for years at this point. It works great. Poor Amazon. Noone's using Luna.

meteor lake also has better power consumtion while playing vs amd at the similar FPS. i'm talking about laptops and ignore that failure of handheld from msi. i think it was same 30w tops

MSI picked up the pace and sent out many Bios updates to help remedy as many issues as they could. It's gotten much more stable and a bit faster too, but it's hit a hard limit due to slow af RAM. lmao

seems like the backside power delivery architecture is doing wonders, im exited to see where they push battlemage dGPUs if they include this changes as well

I just can't be excited with GPU / IGPU / APU news anymore, knowing that the primary target market for these products is the AI / big data sector and they're priced accordingly.

That Battlemage iGPU has a massive memory bandwidth advantage though. Doesn't really matter though if the pricing is similar.

Wow its so amazing to see how much the channel has grown. Been here since the early days! Almost at the million mark!

I just want discrete battle mage. I think ARC is quickly becoming a real player. More competition is always good for consumers.

Intel needs to stick to the number scheme of the previous generation, and name the top tier Battlemage GPU the B770

Excited for battlemage, hopefully it will not be overpriced, if it performs anywhere near a 4080 like its hyped up to be, I will probably get one if the flagship model is priced at or near the 500 dollar mark

Apple is over engineering the battery replacement. Common. Just have a magnetic strip on the back side of the panel and the battery sticks to it.

Lunar Lake power consumption include RAM thanks to MoP. AMD Strix Point don't have MoP so its its actual power consumption with RAM will be little higher. MoP means Memory on Package.

you have to try this 1:38 with the sponserblock extension ON.

Like these companies would want to lose sales in a market the size of the EU.

Cloud gaming sucks. It has sucked since it started and will continue to suck because of the level of latency issues that also suck.

@@zeicanofficial as internet speeds continue to get faster it will only get better. I actually found I had a better experience with Nvidia streaming over Xbox and I haven't had a good experience with Sony streaming but that's a whole other can of worms 😂

OK. I'll wait for final product reviews when available. But the Xe2 Battlemage numbers on Lunar Lake @ 30W are damned impressive. Too many people counting out Intel at this point. That is a mistake. The company still has tons of engineering chops. They will not give up without a hell of a fight.

Yeah, no. It's not 'healthy recovery' of the market when the projections are based on the OS provider basically FORCING a hardware upgrade by arbitrarily killing off the current most popular OS. I have yet to meet anyone who knows anything about computers who WANTED to upgrade to 11. Most were quite upset at the ending of security updates for 10, because despite all the spyware and other frustrations in 10, it's still a drop in the bucket compared to the crapshow that is 11.

I want to be impressed with Lunar Lake and AMDs upcoming chips, but honestly were talking GTX 1060 level performance, which was a 120 W 16 nm chip, so a 30 W 3-4 nm chip isn't really groundbreaking.

Lunar Lake is super efficient though. The memory is super fast and very efficient because it's not on only LPDDR RAM but it's also located on the package which means MUCH more efficiency and way lower latency. The bandwidth and freakishly high RAM speed will hopefully help let the iGPU stretch it legs a bit. You also got to remember that Lunar Lake at the very least has a better upscaler with the XMX version of Intel's XeSS, as well as the fat that it has RT built in. Yes, RT won't be as powerful as on a car like the 4080 but it'll definitely be better than a 1060.

Street price laptops with RTX3050 mobile GPU is about $700. And laptop with recent CPU like AMD Ryzen 7640 or 14-th gen intel CPU and RTX 4060 GPU cost about $1000 But I guess that new laptop with the new Intel/AMD CPU will cost $1500-$2000. So it doe not make sense.

You say that like companies don’t regularly not sell in the EU for one reason or another. Also, being “ an entire continent “ is no protection at all as Australia / Oceania is frequently shafted by companies not doing business with them. Face it, the US market is ~= your “entire continent” and so a company surviving without you is just as easy as all those European companies that don’t sell in the US.

@master_swish that's fair. They did have some control issues that may necessitate a warranty as well. Moral issues aside (the water cooling equivalent of blood diamonds?) it's a bit of a gamble. You could get a blinged out aio for entry level prices that works for years, or a brick with no warranty.

Whats your opinion to AMD not pushing for the Highend GPUs and completely giving up and only focusing on Mediocrity? I get that Nvidia is so strong, but whats better to fight for 1st Place or Second place? Because at some point I believe and hope that Intel will be knocking at their door for second place, and they are just throwing their advantage at the moment which is Branding and fighting for the Bottom isnt doign you any good there. Im extremely pleased by my 6800XT and I dont get the gaming hype around Nvidia at those prices........

Imagine if Microsoft comes up with decisions thst are so controversial that Windows 11 ends up being banned from the EU, what will happen to the consumer market, will MacOS fullfill the void or will Linux become more popular considering that the German state of Schleswig-Holstein replaced Windows and Office 365 with Fedora KDE and LibreOffice, the same could happen for the rest of the EU, which could make Linux more popular and compatible with other apps, correct me if I'm wrong.
